Obituary: 1st Lieutenant Byron Joseph Plapp, age 25, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on 27, 2015 after a hard-fought battle with lymphoma. Byron was born on 17, 1989 in Jacksonville, FL. He was a passionate swimmer from the age of six, becoming a lifetime letterman and swim team captain at The Bolles School. He graduated from Bolles in 2008, receiving the Student Life Award for extraordinary contribution to the school. graduation, he served as a Cadet at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York where he completed four more years of competitive swimming. He received the BAE Award for Excellence in Photogrammetry as a Junior in 2011 before graduating with a degree in Geospatial Information Systems from West Point in May of 2012. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army upon graduation, and married his high school sweetheart, Sarah Stough, on 9, 2012. He continued pursuing his lifelong dream of military service, training to become a helicopter pilot at Fort Rucker, Alabama until his diagnosis with lymphoma. Byron loved to golf and also spent many happy hours working with firearms and honing his marksmanship skills. He was driven by an unwavering faith in his Savior Jesus Christ through the time that he was called home. Byron is survived by his wife Sarah; parents Stephen Plapp and Janet Plapp; sisters Caroline Plapp and Melissa Hwang; brother-in-law Jonathan Hwang and nephew David; grandmother Audrey Pendergrass; and many other loving family members. He is predeceased by his grandparents Francis (CDR,USN Ret.) and Esther Plapp and his grandfather Walter Pendergrass (MAJ, USAF Ret.). Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m on , 30, in Hardage-Giddens 4115 Hendricks Ave. Jacksonville, FL 32207. In celebration of his life, a memorial service for Byron will be held at 1:30 p.m. on , 31, in Christian Family Chapel 10365 Old St. ine Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32257. He will be interred at West Point. Obituary: Valerie Jean Plante, 88, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Keene, died , 8, 2016, surrounded by her family at Doctors Hospital in Sarasota, FL, following a period of failing health. She was born in Hillsborough, NH, on 16, 1927, to Warren and Alice (Waldron) Fisher. She grew up in Hillsborough and Keene and was a graduate of Keene High School. She was a regional sales person for Stanley Products for many years, covering the Monadnock Region. She worked as a telephone operator as a young woman and in later life worked at and retired from MPB Corporation. She was an active member of the American Legion and president of the Ladies Auxiliary at one point. She enjoyed traveling with the love of her life, the late Ady Yeaton, to many functions honoring World War II veterans of which he was one. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, tatting and socializing with family and friends. Shopping with her was a major social event because she always ran into someone she knew to talk to. It seemed like she knew everyone. If there was a bean supper in the area she would often be there. She is survived by her daughters: Nancy Renz and her husband Michael, of W. Palm Beach, FL, Kathy Reedy of Sarasota, FL, Cynthia Plante of Sarasota, FL, Judith Plante of Port Charlotte, FL and Carol Kent of Modesto, CA; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and a brother: Vernon Fisher of Keene. She was predeceased by a brother Warren Fisher, and two sisters: Beverly Fuller and Avis LaBarre. A graveside service will be held on , 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the family lot at Mountain View in Swanzey. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in Valerie J.
