Obituary: PISANO, Alfred Francis, Jr., 74, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, formerly of Tampa, passed away on 9, 2014 after a long and courageous battle against leukemia. He was born on 24, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York to Alfred and Georgianna. He was an All-American lacrosse player at SUNY Cortland from which he graduated in 1961. He then earned his Masters Degree in Education from Penn State University in 1966. Als illustrious career included coaching lacrosse at his alma mater as well as the United States Military Academy in West Point where many of his players earned All-American honors. He then went on to teach and coach at Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania. Al spent the last 30 years of his distinguished career at Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa where he served as head football coach, athletic director, co-director of the Upper Division and Dean of Students until his retirement in 2010. He was inducted into the SUNY Cortland Athletic Hall of Fame, as well as the Berkeley Athletic Hall of Fame, and he was an honorary alumnus of the Berkeley Prep Class of 2010. Al is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 53 years, Peg; daughter Laura (Skip) Lyshon and their children, Megan and Steven; son Michael (Mary Susan) and their children Jasper and Helena; son Ronald (Angela) and their children Christopher and Nicholas; and son Alfred, III (Jean) and their children Samuel, Peter and Louis. He is also survived by his sister, Leonore Glodowski; great- grandchildren, Michael and Isabelle; several cousins, nieces, nephews and other close relatives. Al was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Joanne Avazis, and his brother, Stephen Pisano. Al will be remembered fondly as a devoted husband, loving and caring father and grandfather, and an inspirational mentor, teacher, coach and school administrator. He was a communicant at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fort Pierce and his enduring faith gave him much comfort throughout his life. He was a gentle man with a kind heart who will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Moffitt Cancer or the Berkeley Preparatory School Alumni Scholarship Fund in Tampa, Florida. Visitation will be on , 15, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Blount & Curry , 605 S. MacDill Avenue, Tampa Florida. Obituary: Pisani, Sara “Sally” A., of Tampa died on 17, 2014. She was born on 20, 1953 in Tallahassee to Dr. Frank W. Pisani and Harriet Hazard Pisani. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Raleigh, NC and the University of North Carolina. She was employed by Hillsborough and lovingly served the public as a case worker for the homeless and medically fragile population. She was a champion and advocate for her clients and much beloved by her family, friends, and co-workers.
