Obituary: Leo Joseph Pilon, 91, died May 2, 2017 with his family by his side in Boca Raton, Florida. Leo was born 7, 1926 in Springfield, Mass. Leo enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17 during WWII and proudly served for 2 years. He primarily served on ship LSM 21 as a helmsman and machinist mate. He most notably fought in the Battle of Leyte Gulf in the Philippines, regarded by many as the largest naval battle in history. Leos ship was also in Tokyo Bay on V-J Day, where the Empire of Japan surrendered in WWII. He was honorably discharged on May 3, 1946. Upon his return from the war, he married Doris Pellerin in Springfield, Mass. on 15, 1947. Leo opened a successful electrical contracting business in his early 20s in Agawam, Mass. Leo and Doris moved their family to Florida in 1955. Leo worked as a Master Electrician for 40 years in Massachusetts and South Florida. He also served as the Chief Electrical Inspector for the City of Pompano Beach for a short time. Leo retired in 1988 at the age of 62 to spend more time with his family. Leo was preceded in death by his wife Doris who passed in 2009. Leo was also preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Edward, and his sister, Theresa LaBonte. He is survived by his sisters, Jeanette Jalbert and Doris Perrault. Leo is also survived by his son, Thomas Pilon, Ph.D. of Carrollton, Texas and his daughter Elaine Donaghue and her partner, Brent Winans of Ocean Ridge, Fla. He is survived by his grandchildren and their spouses, Todd Donaghue (and Michelle), Chad Donaghue (and Joe Snell) and Joshua Donaghue (and Amanda). Leo also leaves behind three wonderful great-grandchildren that he adored: Avery, Mason and Cameron. Services will be held at Babione-Kraer , 1100 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Fla. on May 5. Obituary: Eleustricimo Padama "Leo" Pilon, 88, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on 5, 2014. He was a devoted father, beloved Papa, and dedicated Veteran. Born 25, 1925 in Burgos, Pangasinan, of the Philippine Islands, during WWII he served as a scout for the Philippine Guerrilla Forces against the Japanese. Followed by his enlistment into the U.S. Navy where he proudly dedicated 29 years of service then retired as Chief Petty Officer E7. In 1969 he became a naturalized citizen of the United States. Upon retirement he lived in his longtime home in Pensacola, Florida. In 2012, he became a resident of Jacksonville residing at Heritage Crossings Assisted Living Facility. He was a very kind, generous, and loving gentleman. He loved gardening and sharing his harvest with neighbors, friends and family. Also enjoyed fishing, gambling junkets, and sharing lots of fun, food, laughs with family and friends. Survivors include his daughters, Isabel "Nani" (Seaborn) O'Quinn, Mabel "Moani" Lima, sons, Edgar Dale (Carmen) Pilon, Herbert "Burt" (Kelly) Pilon; and eight loving grandchildren, Chadwick Gall, Michael Gall, Jessica Gall (Tyler) Ring, Melanie Lima, Malie Lima, Erica Martinez, Kianna Pilon, Noah Pilon, Chad O'Quinn, Courtney O'Quinn, Michael (Tia) Whalen, Jacob Whalen, and six great-grandchildren, Alani and Leia Ring, Kaleigh and Savannah Whalen, Taylor and Brady Whalen. And many fond friends. Memorial services were conducted in a private family gathering, with an official Veteran's Memorial Service planned for . Obituary: Wilma was born in Pottsville, PA. She had a brother, Elias, two and a half years younger. In High School, she played on the girls basketball team. She lived in Pennsylvania her first 25 years. In 1947, she married Charles Yetter. She had a daughter, Rosemary in 1950 and a son, Charles (Chuck), in 1952. In 1954, the family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where she worked for Southern Bell Telephone as a secretary. In 1960, she moved to San Diego, California, and lived there about 20 years. She married Joseph (Tom) Lee in California. She worked as an office/general manager at Babyland Diaper Service and later for Franchise Tax Board. Wilma enjoyed helping others which made this job special to her. Step children Ray, Jim and Joe came to California from Florida to live with Wilma and Tom. Other Step children were Nancy and Barbara, also Tom (now deceased) and Sandy. In the late 70's, Wilma and Tom retired to Bradenton. Tom passed in 1985. Wilma became active in the Church and volunteered often. She loved the church but searched for the right denomination. She found it in the Seventh day Adventist Church. She was attending the Bradenton Church, and was introduced to Albert by his brother Clarence, the pastor. Wilma and Albert married in 1995. Wilma and Albert had many good times in the company of Albert's son Joe, his wife Cindy, and their daughter Chelsea. Wilma and Albert traveled the Eastern United States many times visiting friends and family. Pennsylvania was often their destination as her brother, Eli, lived in Middletown, PA. Remembering her heritage, she would sometimes spout words and phrases in Pennsylvania Dutch. She liked to tell the story of the house her parents bought when she was a girl. The house was ordered from a catalog, and shipped in pieces to them for assembly. Wilma enjoyed sewing, camping and water skiing. When she visited son Chuck in Pensacola she would usually ask about waterskiing, which she did, even as she approached her sixtieth birthday. Wilma and Albert moved to Westminster Manor (an assisted living facility) in Bradenton in of 2014. There they met many wonderful people, and made many friends. Wilma is survived by: husband Albert, daughter Rosemary (Severino), son Chuck Yetter, grandchildren: Shannon and Susan, Diana and Darren, great grandchildren: Morgan, Jadyen, Zane, and Dylan. She is also survived by step children: Sandy Mullen, Jim Lee, Joe Lee, Barbara Lee, Nancy Spaleta, Ray Lee and Joe Pillsbury. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tribute from Michelle: Wilma walked in the Spirit, lived in the light, a good and faithful servant of God.
