Obituary: Those who love the Lord never see each other for the last time. And so we rejoice that Margaret Adele Jordan Pence is now in the arms of God, and that we will see her again! Adele was born on 29, 1928 in Florence, Alabama, the daughter of Kenneth and Velma Jordan. She passed away on 6 at the Mayo Clinic. In 1951 she married the love of her life, William B. Pence, Jr. and for 65 years, they devoted themselves to God and one another. She, Bill and their children, Michelle and Kenneth moved to Jacksonville Beach in 1961. Adele was a model wife and mother, supporting Bill in all his endeavors, and serving as a school teacher, an Elder's wife, a Girl Scout leader, a Cub Scout leader, swim mom and all-around chauffeur. For 20 years, it was her privilege to work for Dr. Brooks Brown, initially as his medical assistant, later as his office manager and finally as his executive secretary when he became the CEO of Memorial Hospital. Upon her retirement, a baby grand piano was donated in her honor to Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville. Adele worshipped and served faithfully, alongside her husband, at the Jacksonville Beach Church of Christ. In 2012, she and Bill moved to Cypress Village, where she made countless friends and served in several volunteer capacities. Long after their retirement, her dear friends, The Magnolias, met regularly for food and fun. Adele had a zest for life and made it her mission to represent God and her family well. She leaves a legacy of love, faith, service, encouragement, devotion - and had a wonderful dry wit. In addition to Bill, Michelle (Eddie) Levick, and Ken (Marsha) Pence, she considered, among her greatest blessings, four wonderful grandchildren, Sheree Levick Cobia (Brandon), Lauren Levick, Meredith Pence Bell (Nick) and Jordan (Kelsey) Pence, as well as four great-grandchildren, Camryn and Mason Cobia and Hudson and Everett Bell. Two more great-grandsons will be born later this year. One of Adele's favorite verses from the Bible reads: And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!
