Obituary: LCDR AUBREY R. PATTEN (USCG, Ret.) LCDR Aubrey R. Patten (USCG, Ret.), 92, of Floral City, Florida, died on 24, 2015. Aubrey’s life was dedicated to many years of military service. He enlisted in the Navy in World War II, served about the USS Saratoga, and the USS Hancock as a Machinist Mate in the Philippine Islands, Formosa, Iwo Jima, The Marshal Islands and along the China and Japanese coastlines to name a few. On 28, 1947, he entered the USCG, attended Officer Candidate School and Marine Inspection Investigation Training and retired after more than 33 of years of military service on 30, 1965. Aubrey resided in Franklinville, NJ for more than 25 years prior to moving to his birth state of Florida. Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey R. Patten Sr. and Catherine Bona Patten, his wife of many years Betty S. Patten, his son Michal A. Patten, and his grandson Shane Aubrey Lecates. He is survived by his brother John Herschel Patten, and his sisters Mary (Robert) Whitley and Marion Chaple. Aubrey’s surviving children include Anita (Thomas) Fadden of Winston-Salem, NC and Steven (Lynn) Patten of Hockessin, DE. Aubrey’s grandchildren include Kimberly (Roy) Ford, Thomas Fadden III, Amanda Fadden, Jonathan Patten and Emily Patten, as well as six great-grandchildren. services are scheduled to be held on 22, 2015 at Sylvan Abbey s in Clearwater, Florida. Aubrey will be buried at Bay Pines National with full military honors. Per his request, please send donations directly to your church or to your favorite military organization. |
