Obituary: Martin Daniel “Dan” Patrick, 83 of Brooksville, Florida passed away , 22, 2016 , at his home. Dan was born on 16, 1932 in Brooksville, Florida to Lake Theron and Ida Lenora Patrick. Dan attended grade school in Brooksville, where he attended through the 9th grade. wards, Dan dedicated himself to the family farming business in which his family was one of the largest contributors to the Food Industry of the 1940’s in Hernando . At the age of 18, Dan enlisted in the United States Army and served as a Sergeant until the age of 22. serving his country Dan became affiliated with sales in the Life and Insurance industry. Dan quickly realized his talents in the business of sales, and became a leading agent for Interstate Life and Accident Insurance out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Interstate Life recognized Dan’s ability for motivating others and promoted him to management over numerous sales agents within his division. In 1970, Dan decided to become a self-employed insurance agency and opened his business back in his beloved hometown of Brooksville, Florida. As an independent, licensed agent for numerous companies, Dan built his office complex on Highway 41 and opened for business as “Dan Patrick and Associates.” Dan worked as an active sales agent in the fields of Life and , and Estate Planning until of 2015. Dan was the recipient of numerous outstanding sales awards in the Life and Insurance Industry. Dan was awarded the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table sales recognition award numerous years. In concordance, many other awards were as follows: Interstate Life’s Presidents Club Award; Indianapolis Life’s Century Club Award and The Billboard Award; Jefferson National Life’s Ambassador Award, The Diplomat Club Award, and The Century Club Award; Kentucky Central Life’s Insurance Sales Leader Award. Other special interest awards were as follows: Who’s Who in Society; Strathmore’s Who’s Who; Hernando of Chamber of Commerce Elite; Republican Senatorial Inner Circle; Florida Sheriff’s Association Bronze Star Recipient; Man of The Year Polk G.A.M.A. Recipient; Commitment to Excellence Award by Vince Lombardi. Dan’s commitment and love for community and church were evident in his encouragement and support for others. Dan was instrumental in developing churches within the community, such as West Brooksville Church of God and became a charter member at the first documented service. Dan also encouraged and motivated others within the community to begin their entrepreneurial journeys in business. Dan also had hobbies that included his love of cars and eventually the sale of cars. Dan enjoyed driving to Detroit, Michigan in pursuit and purchase of new cars directly from the factory for friends and family. He owned and operated Patrick Auto Sales on Highway 41. Inherently with the love of farming, Dan still farmed his 20 acre farm off Manecke Road and spent many s in his stained work clothes, ball cap, and on his tractor or in his truck working the land. Dan is survived by his wife Frances Parish-Patrick, son Martin Daniel “Danny” Patrick, daughter Darell Patrick (Ollin) Griffith, stepdaughter Cindy Price (Larry) Kinner, daughter Deanna Patrick (Dean) Yardas, son Martin Van Patrick, daughter Meagan Patrick (Brian) Dunn, son Tyler Patrick, brothers Silas Theron Patrick and James Royal Patrick, also 18 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents L. T. and Ida, his sister Elouise Patrick Corbin, brothers Roy Glenwood Patrick, Paul Theron Patrick, Harvard Wayne Patrick, childhood siblings Buddy and Elizabeth, and son Hal Blake Patrick. |

Obituary: Sue, aged 92 died on 22,2017. She was born on 12, 1925, in Hummelstown, PA, the daughter of Theodore and Kathryn Burridge. Sis, as she was known growing up, was quite athletic and enjoyed basketball and dancing. In 1945 she married Darvin O. Patrick, also from Hummelstown, PA, and began a career as an Army soldier’s wife and mother. She was an amazing homemaker and had more wisdom, strength and fortitude than she ever gave herself credit for. She was humble and giving and one hundred percent supportive of her husband’s career and the demands the Army puts on their soldiers. She taught her three daughters to be equally respectful of their father’s obligations. Sue was supportive of every organization her girls belonged to and was the Girl Scout Cookie Chairman for years on end! She also served as a volunteer at Army hospitals in the many places her husband was stationed. She had a passion and a skill for bowling as well and belonged to many different bowling leagues. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, knitting and general crafting. She joined the Order of the Eastern Star while living in Heidelberg, Germany and soon became the Mother Advisor for Heidelberg Assembly No.1 of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She was a mentor and leader for many teenage girls and her home was always open to the many friends of daughters. When her husband’s career ended after 33 years of serving in the United States Army, Sue and Pat (Darvin) retired to Orlando, Florida in 1973. It was after her husband’s retirement that Sue decided to go back to work again. She started working at Walt Disney World and absolutely loved it. A few years later she and Pat began a crafting business which was more of a hobby. Pat crafted items from wood and Sue would do the decorating and painting and together they would go to all of the local craft shows. Sue also made photo albums to sell. were both incredibly talented and thoroughly enjoyed traveling to the different shows and meeting lots of new people. Sue and her husband later affiliated with Pine Castle Chapter 321 Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as an officer for many years. She loved her OES sisters and brothers. She was also a member of Athaliah Temple No.114, Daughters of the Nile, a fraternal Masonic organization whose main purpose is to support Shriner’s Hospitals. Anyone that knew Sue, knew she loved to give and serve others. She was known as a gracious hostess and a loving friend, not to mention an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother! Levenia (Sue) is survived by her brothers, Theodore Burridge and his wife Ruth, William Burridge and his wife Gwen; her daughters Michele Guest and her husband Jim, Maureen Grodzinski and her husband John. She will also be greatly missed by six grandchildren, Michael, Tammy, Erin, Ryan, Kate, and Tyler and five great grandchildren, Mekenzie, Riley, Landon, Henry and David. Sue’s family was indeed the light of her life! She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. (ret.) Darvin O. Patrick, her daughter, Lu’Anne Patrick Jevnager and her brother, Richard Burridge. Services will be held on 14, 2017, at Saint Mary of the Angels Episcopal Church, 6316 Matchett Road, Orlando, FL 32809 with visitation beginning at 2:00 and the service beginning at 3:00.
