Obituary: Parker: Betty M. Parker passed away 14, 2010. She was born 27, 1931in Sycamore, Georgia and moved to Jacksonville as a child. Mrs. Parkers life revolved around the love for her family. Her passion was cooking and baking, which everyone loved. She worked for Shaws Southern Belle Frozen foods for 25 years before retirement. Mrs. Parker was a very beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Mrs. Parker is survived by: sons Jerry W. Parker (Judy) and Donnie Parker; daughters Kathy Usry (Greg), Pam Villar (Ed), Tracy Medley (Gary), and Sarah Alford (Ronnie); grandchildren Jason (Vickie), Jeremy (Carol), Shelly, D.J., Joshua, Nicole, Cody, Stetson, and Mollie; great-grandchildren Paige, Emma, and Jude; and her beloved dog Bentley. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Eugene Parker, (4) brothers, and (7) sisters, and a grandaughter Rebecca. The family will receive friends , 18, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country . Services will be conducted 19, 2011 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Obituary: Bernard Edward Parker, Sr, born in Haws Run, NC on 17, 1926 to Edna and William Parker, passed away peacefully on 23, 2015. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy during the Invasion of Normandy. His dear wife of 62 years, Arue, preceded him in death just 3 weeks ago. Left to cherish his memory are: children: Coleen Pashley (Tony), Eddie Parker and Debra Maddox (Bennie); grandchildren: Lee Pashley (Whitney), Sara Maddox, Brandon Pashley, Payne Maddox, Christian Parker (Missy) and Taylor Parker; great-grand children: Hope, Brody and Bryce; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on , 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens , 729 S Edgewood Ave. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on night from 6-8 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edgewood Avenue Christian Church, where Bernard was a faithful member for over 52 years. The family wishes to sincerely thank Community Hospice of Northeast Florida for the compassionate care of our father and mother. |
