Obituary: Joseph J. Palasak passed away , 9, 2015 at Halifax Hospital at the age of 79. He was born in Perth Amboy N.J. and for 15 years he owned and operated with his family Meyers Café in Fords, NJ. In 1975 he moved to Florida and started his sales career at the News Journal. In 1985 he started J Palasak Realtors Inc. which he owned and operated for 5 years. He worked in the sales department of Oceans Condominiums and retired in 2002 from Halifax Plantation Sales Department. Joe was active in the Daytona Beach Board of Realtors where he served as President in 1985, Epiphany Catholic Church, Wilbur Club, and the Port Orange Elks #2723. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Maryanne Chiminitz Palasak; daughter Susanne Meska and her husband Steve; son Joseph Palasak, Jr. and his wife Bonnie; six grandchildren Michelle Baal, Donald Baal and his wife Rebekah, Danielle Todd and her husband Wes, Riley Palasak, Emma Palasak and Grant Palasak; four great grandchildren, Juliet Baal, Maddux Todd, Elizabeth Baal and James Baal. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm 12, 2015, At Volusia Memorial 4815 S Clyde Morris Blvd Port Orange. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am, at Epiphany Catholic Church 201 Lafayette Street, Port Orange followed by interment in Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.volusiamemorialfuneral.com |

He was born in New York City and retired after 35 years of service with Exxon Corp where he was a data processor. He enjoyed golf, and was a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church in Palm Harbor.
