Obituary: Charles Paglianite aka (Charlie Page) passed away peacefully on 8, 2016. Charles is survived by his devoted son Frank M. Paglianite (Rhonda), his grandsons who lovingly referred to him as "Poppy", Frank C. Paglianite (Mary), Stephen Paglianite and Brian Diskin (Lara) 2 Great Granddaughters Gina and Julieanne Paglianite and Great Grandson Christian Dolan and Charles only sibling Marie Damiano. Charles was born on 1, 1922 in Philadelphia, one of six children. He served as a naval shipbuilder during the war effort and was an accomplished Master Welder. Charles married Margaret Gough and moved to Ft. Lauderdale in the 50's. Worked for Aerodex and in 1963 won a landmark case Paglianite vs. Aerodex in which he was fired because of trying to Unionize Aerodex on his lunch break. The Court ruled in his favor and he went on to work in other major projects in South Florida which includes the construction of the Key West Desalination water plant, a hospital in Sebring Florida and established a thriving plumbing business (CP Plumbing). One thing about Charles is he was good with his hands as it seems he could fix anything - and if there was no way to fix it - he still found a way, it was amazing. Charles loved to travel and liked to live life to the fullest. His favorite and most treasured occupation of all was his role of Captain of a large oceanic tanker (The Ocean Crown). Charles loved to share many stories of his world travel adventures with his family and friends that he told in such a way that all who heard lived vicariously through his experience. Charles whole-heartedly and unconditionally loved his whole family and friends at which he would stop at nothing to help out in any way possible. Charles always loved to help people and would always offer a helping hand to anyone in need that he met. He was a good man and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Obituary: Anthony John La Paglia, 85, of Marco Island, FL, 19, 2015, formerly of Rochester, NY. Beloved husband of Bernadette and devoted father of Susan (Jurij) Eliaszewskyj of Rochester; Steven (Kim) La Paglia of Davidsonville, MD; Elizabeth "Betsy" (Stephen) Mehlrose of Pittsford, NY; and David La Paglia of Annapolis, MD. Survived by four adoring grandchildren: Caitlin & Leah Eliaszewskyj and Patrick & Michael La Paglia. Niece Patricia (Dr. Keith) Kulju of Bemus Point, NY; nephew Sam (Carolyn) Pilato of Streator, Ill; grandniece & nephew Ashley & Brian (Kellie) Kulju of Miami Beach, FL also mourn his passing. Godchildren John Campbell Springer & Miss Claire Brianna Kenning of Seattle, WA; and Miss Ana Elizabeth Hayes of Rochester are saddened. Mr. La Paglia was preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale & Gaetana La Paglia of Rochester; his sister Josephine Pilato of Chautauqua, NY; and his first wife & first mate, Theresa "Terry." Growing up in Rochester, he attended Aquinas Institute and St. Bonaventure University. Following his service in the US Army during the Korean War, he honed his skills as a clinical chemist in Rochester at the Genesee Hospital, also Highland Hospital where he served as Director of Laboratories until he was recruited by Bausch & Lomb's Analytical Systems Division, retiring as its President. During the gubernatorial of Mario Cuomo, he served as advisor to the NY State Science & Technology Foundation dedicated to assisting start-ups; in this capacity he considered Opkor Inc. his greatest achievement. Additionally, he served an unprecedented two terms as Board Chair of Catholic Family . He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree; and an accomplished yachtsman, enjoying many years of Fair Winds and Following Seas on Irondequoit Bay and Lake Ontario as a member of the Rochester Yacht Club.
