Obituary: Erma Gene Overman passed away 8, 2015. She was born 27, 1939 in Jack , Texas to Monroe and Sarah Dater. Erma grew up in Garner, Texas and graduated from Milsap High School. She met the love of her life Carl W. Overman at Garner Baptist Church while he was stationed in the area for the military. It was love at first sight and they were married 28, 1957. Their family was stationed overseas in Germany for several years before settling in Grand Prairie, Texas in 1976. Erma was a strong but loyal woman who enjoyed cross-stitch and bingo. She was a license cosmetologist, loving wife, caring mother and the best big sister to her baby sister Jane. She was fun and family oriented, loving spending time at the beach and in her yard. She enjoyed her flowers and decorating for the holidays. Erma is preceded in death by her husband Carl Wesley Overman Sr.; children: Carl Wesley Overman Jr., Debbie Gene Green and sister Claudene Busby. Obituary: Don Leldon Overman went home to his Savior on , 25th, 2014 at the age of 71. A devoted husband, father, and great grandfather, and a deeply faithful man of God. Don, affectionately known as Daddy Don was known and loved by many, and our sadness at his passing is only surpassed by our joy at knowing he is with his Heavenly Father. Don Overman was born on 17, 1942 in Levelland, Texas to the late Leldon Lee Overman and Thelma Gladys Overman. Don attended public schools in Levelland, Texas and in Whitharral, Texas. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Crews Overman, in 1960. Together, they have been active members of Second Baptist Church. From a young age, Don was a strong Christian man who placed God and his family in the center of his life. Daddy Don lived life to the fullest. As a young man, he enjoyed playing football, basketball, track and baseball. He showed animals in 4-H and FFA (a love and passion he never outgrew); and he loved riding horses. He formed loving and close friendships that he carried with him throughout his entire life. He obtained a pilots license in his early thirties, and he later purchased a boat and a motor home so that he could travel by land, air and sea. He loved to take cruises with friends and family. Though his primary residence was in Levelland, Texas his second home was Lake Kemp in Seymour, Texas where he enjoyed some of the best times of his life with his family and friends under one roof. His hobbies included Golf, Fishing and working with wood. Don had a truly entrepreneurial spirit when it came to work in that he envisioned work as a means to learning and gathering knowledge and skills. Dons profession was farming, but he also worked as a Manager of the Triangle Gin, a salesman for Farm Bureau Insurance, owned and operated Rhinobear coffee shop, and did contract work for Oxy Permian LTD. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Overman, by his children DeAnn and Keno Henderson, John Brandon and Angela Overman; his grandchildren: Hayley and Jason McManus, Kensey and Adam Barrett, John Jeremiah, Guy Don, and Chet Samuel Overman, Alexandria Brielle and Maci Hope French; and great grandchildren: Emily Raeanne and Kathryn Dawn McManus and the expected Averi Ann Barrett. Don was preceded in death by his Father, Leldon Lee Overman (1973), his mother, Thelma Gladys Overman, (2012), and a brother, Adrian Dean Overman (1939). In celebration of Dons life and his faith, the funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on at the Second Baptist Church of Levelland, Texas with Mike Holster, celebrant. Interment will be held at the Whitharral . Family visitation will be at the funeral home afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. are under the direction of George Price . Obituary: Much beloved mother and wife, Margaret Peggy Steinhart Overly, died on 3, 2007 at the age of 84 years, after a long battle with AlzheimerÂs Disease. She was born on 13, 1923 in Havana, Cuba to the late Lillian Smith Malone and Frank Steinhart. She was educated in Cuba and at St. Genevieve of the Pines in Asheville, North Carolina, which her mother and sister had also attended. She then attended Sweet Brier in Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Frederick Overly; daughter, Michele Rowe-Shields and her husband, Don Shields of San Jose, California; and her sister, Ann Alvarez Tabio of Prior Lake, Minnesota. She is survived by 3 children, Reba (Doug) Reinertson of Pahrump, NV, Judy Tubbs of Lubbock and Rick (Lynne) Dutton of Lubbock; brother, Ronnie Davis and sister Mary Davis Newsom of Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 siblings, her husband Russell Gene Overly, 3 sons, Gary at birth, Danny Dutton and Jamey Dutton; one grandson and 2 great-granddaughters. She was kind and generous, to a fault, the sort of Mother everyone would like to have. She was a very wise, hardworking, farm mother, a great cook. She could wring a chickens neck like you wouldn believe to feed her family. She was shy and afraid of her shadow at times, yet when it came to protecting her brood, she was a wildcat.
