Obituary: Linda Granny Ott, of Farmers Branch, Texas, passed away at home, 6, 2013. She was born 2, 1943 in Dallas, Texas. Linda attended Carrollton High School. She married Larry Ott 27, 1962. Linda was survived by her children Lawrence Ott of Carrollton, Texas, Robert Ott of Addison, Texas and Pattie Burgess of Farmers Branch; her grandchildren Alan, Lauren and Ashley Ott, and Alie, Adam, Aubrie and Avery Burgess; one great-grandchild Jacob Wicker. Linda is known and well respected in the Farmers Branch/Carrollton area for her presence in the community through various church, neighborhood, school and sporting events and activities. Linda handled everything from picking up children for church services to participating as room/team mom for her children and grandchildren, to heading the softball leagues. Known as Granny to so many, her compassion and love could be felt not only by her children and grandchildren but also by the many friends that surrounded her. Her voice rang from the bleachers at countless football, baseball, basketball, softball fields and auditoriums for more than four decades. Whether it was encouraging a participant or correcting an official, you knew who she was rooting for. There weren enough hours to listen to or words to express the pride and joy she had for her children and grandchildren. Obituary: JOYCE D. OTT crashed the pearly gates at the age of 79. She passed away peacefully on , 8, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was a selfless and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born on 2, 1935 in Kentwood, Louisiana where she was raised by her doting mother Frankie Davis and grandparents Nettie and Pierce (Boss) Day. She is survived by her devoted family. Her children: daughter Rhonda and husband Wayne Carpenter, daughter Gay and husband Smokey Mather, son Brent Ott and daughter Shana Ott. Her grandchildren: Adam Carpenter and wife Cassie, Mandy Davis and husband Brandon, Whitney Mather, and Cody Mather and wife Jordan. Her great-grandchildren: Tylen, Taw, Tret, Theron and Taylee Carpenter, and Cole and Lainey Davis. Joyces feisty nature, laughter and wit endeared her to everyone. She was a spitfire with a great sense of humor, and an ability to convince her children and grandchildren to do whatever she wanted. She loved all animals, especially cats. Nothing brought her more joy than holidays with her family. A celebration of Joyces life will be held at 11:00 am on , 11, at Grand View , 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas. Obituary: James Jim Ott, a born and raised Texas resident, passed to heaven on , 6, 2017, with his loving wife by his side. Jim was born on 26, 1961 in Vernon, TX, to Keith and Mildred Ott. He graduated from Bowie High School in Arlington in 1979 and earned his Bachelor of Arts at Concordia in 1983. It was in college where Jim met the love of his life, Cathleen, and they were married in Navasota, TX on 11, 1983. Jim was an avid sports fan, playing in various leagues, fund raisers, and tournaments for tennis, jogging, golf, disk golf, and cycling. He rode the Hotter-N-Hell 100 in Wichita Falls twice. But he cheered no one on more than the Texas Rangers. Jim loved to serve on mission trips with Joni and Friends, Wheels for the World. Helping to give the gift of mobility and sharing the Love of Christ. In his career Jim began selling Hi-Fi Stereos after college and transferred in to personal computers, spending 22 years with IBM as a technical systems engineer and manager. He attended Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Plano. Jim is survived by Cathleen, his loving wife of 33 years; mother, Mildred Ott; brothers, Bruce Ott, Robert Ott and wife, Amy, Tom Ott and wife, Elizabeth; and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith; and sons, Matthew and Bradley. Visitation will be held on , 9, 2017 from 5-7pm in Ted Dickey West , 8011 Frankford Rd, Dallas, TX 75252.
