Obituary: Rowena Simpson Osborn of San Antonio died peacefully at her Terrell Hills home on 3, 2013. Born on 4, 1916 in Georgetown, Texas, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dee Simpson of Houston. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, William Byron Osborn, Jr. Mrs. Osborn grew up in Houston and graduated from San Jacinto High School and attended Gunston Hall in Washington, D.C. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. A lifelong Christian, Mrs. Osborn has been a devoted member of Saint Marks Episcopal Church since 1945, when she moved from Houston to San Antonio. She was a member of The Junior League of San Antonio, The Battle of Flowers Association, The Charity Ball Association, The Assembly, The Patrons of the McNay Museum, The Quillen Society of the Witte Museum, The Alamo Heights-Terrell Hills Garden Club, The San Antonio Country Club and The Argyle. Mrs. Osborn is survived by her three children, Robert Foard Townsend III and his wife Marian, Diana Townsend Morehouse and William Byron Osborn III and his wife Bonnie, grandchildren Lisa Morehouse Ray and her husband Clint, Amy Simpson Morehouse, John Foard Townsend, Franklin Simpson Townsend, William Byron Osborn IV and his wife Jenna, Annlyn Amelia Osborn, Ada Carlotta Osborn and three great grandchildren, Carson Haggard Ray, Lauren Elizabeth Ray and Charlotte Emslie Osborn. Mrs. Osborn is also survived by many devoted nieces and nephews. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Maria Salazar and her caregiving team headed by Edith Ray. Family graveside services at Mission Burial Park South will precede the Memorial Service. MEMORIAL SERVICE MONDAY JANUARY 7, 2013 3:00 PM SAINT MARKS EPISCOPAL CHURCH 315 E. PECAN The Rev. Obituary: Ronnie Mac Osborn died on 10, 2015 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 69. His devotion to his Savior, Jesus Christ, has left his family with no doubt that he has returned to his heavenly home. He is survived by his wife, Glenna Osborn, children Renea Osborn English and husband Charles of Nashville, Tennessee, Ronna Osborn Robbins and husband Brian of Austin, Texas, Dusty Osborn, Cody Osborn and wife Taylor, sister Beverly Norman and brother-in-law James all of Big Spring. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Dylan English, Paisley Osborn, Charlie English, and Jake Osborn as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Doc and Juana Osborn and his sister, Shirley Osborn Ezell. A life-long resident of Big Spring, Texas, Ron was born on May 27, 1946, to Doc and Juana Osborn, a business owner and homemaker respectively. He was immersed in a Christian environment that led him to become the man his family knew and loved. In 1967, he joined the armed forces and chose to serve as a United States Marine in the Vietnam War. serving his country, he enrolled at the University of Texas in Austin and graduated from there in of 1974 with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. He remained a devoted Longhorn fan throughout his life. Ron was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend and soul mate, Glenna Sue Osborn, on 1, 1972. Together with his wife, he raised his four children with patience and humility. In 1982, Ron moved his young family to Big Spring, Texas where he built their home and soon after started an engineering corporation, Avantech. Together he and Glenna ran the operation as a family business, in which they employed many family members including his mother, his children, and several nieces and nephews. 15 years, he sold the company to a large engineering firm, which continues to use the technology he invented. selling the company, Ron embarked on several other successful business ventures the last of which included opening Southaven RV Park with his wife and children. His loved ones will dearly miss Ron and they will remember him as a truly righteous man. His family feels overwhelmingly blessed to have the time that they had with him. As a father, he provided a foundation of strength, wisdom and hope that his family is able to build their dreams upon. His devotion to Christ, generous spirit, and tremendous love for those around him will always be remembered. The family will have a visitation on 17, 2015 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Osborn family home. This will be a time for friends and family to celebrate Rons life and share memories of him.
