Obituary: Patricia Stuckey Orr, 81, of Houston, TX, died 12, 2011. Her final days were spent surrounded by the family and friends she touched so deeply. Patricia was born in Hamilton, OH, 26, 1929 to Melba and Frederick Stuckey. She moved to Houston with her family in 1940, and in 1948 met her future husband Charles. married on 11, 1951. Patty worked over 30 years with HISD as the Principals secretary, primarily at Montgomery Elementary School. retiring, she volunteered at West Houston Medical for several years. Her childhood was greatly affected by the depression, where she learned the lifelong lessons of practicality and common sense. Her love of people was evident to the end. She was a great listener who was genuinely interested in everyone she met. Her advice and council was sought throughout her life by both family and friends. She was the centerpiece of the Orr family until her final days. The life lessons she taught will live on as they pass from her children, to her grandchildren, to her great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. Pat is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles Orr; sister Karen Bauer; children Deborah Gouge and Ben Orr; grandchildren Becky Moffett, Vicky Gouge, Jennifer Gouge and Jimmy Gouge; great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Services will be held , 16 at 10AM, Earthman Hunters Creek , with internment to follow at Woodlawn . In lieu of flowers, Patty would greatly appreciate a donation to Houston Hospice, who enabled her to pass from this life on her terms with dignity and grace. |

Obituary: Trebie Gail Carlson Orr Wife, Mother, Gabby, Sister, Aunt, & Friend to All Trebie was born on 4th, 1950 to Jack and Pat Carlson in Brownwood, Texas. She was the middle sister to Torjie Sweeten and Martha Faetche. She loved her summers spent on Lake Brownwood with her family where she became a proficient slalom water skier. While attending Brownwood High School Trebie was on the Lionettes drillteam, sang in the A Cappella choir, played bass guitar in a band and became an accomplished artist. She graduated high school in 1968. It was in college at Southwest Texas State University where she met her life-long best friend Bev Coonrod, to whom she lived nearby most of her life. She graduated from University of North Texas with a degree in Art before moving to Galveston and working in the UTMB Art Department where she had several works of art published. 8, 1974, Trebie got a call from her soon-to-be husband Michael Orr. Michael called to ask her out on a blind date, a few days later they had dinner in Houston and he fell in love with her that very day. At her parents house some months later, Michael saw a portrait of a then four-year-old Trebie and realized he had been enchanted by her for longer than he knew. He explained to her mom, Pat, that he remembered seeing that exact same photo of her in a window of a big department store in downtown Houston, 20 Years earlier when he was just a ten-year-old boy. Pat said, Yes, it was in Neiman Marcus. There was no doubt left that they were meant to be together forever. At their first meeting Trebies beautiful smile and gracious demeanor won over Michaels four-year-old daughter Joey-Michelle. The two bonded that very day while playing Barbies. Joey-Michelle was flower girl at their wedding, where Trebie gained a husband and a true daughter. In 1978, the couple gave birth to a son, Wilson Orr, who went on to study Engineering at Texas A&M University but has always aspired to his mothers artistic talent. At every road trip, hotel, cutting, (and in the early years, church), she would have a pencil or crayon ready for Wilson so he could draw to his hearts content. One might say Trebie was raised to be a wife and a mother; her family would say there could be none greater. The couple lived in Texas City near Michaels parents and brother James, for many years where Trebie was a dedicated member and volunteered with The Junior League of Galveston, Rotary Ann, the Darbys Dance Club, and the Arbor Society, among many other organizations and events. It was in Texas City where they built a lifelong bond with great friends. Besides family and friends one of Trebies passions in life was reading to children for over twenty years at the local elementary school every week, and substitute teaching. Even when Wilson was a young boy, she would volunteer at his school to read to his class. With her southern flair outfits and silver charm necklaces; she was once described by a 1st grade classmate of Wilsons as being the most glamorous woman she had ever seen. For over 30 years, Trebie has enjoyed traveling the U.S. alongside Michael to root, whoop, hoot & hollar from the stands as she and her friends watched him ride. She was his biggest fan, and strongest critic... always quick to tell him when he picked up his hand too early or was too far back in the herd. Everywhere she went, her bright attitude and endless smile was both magnetic and contagious. When asked what her true passion in life has been, she said to Michael, it was just to make other people happy. She never had an enemy. Together they settled down in Brenham, Texas, where they spent so many years going to horse shows and building an ever-growing family of friends. Her immediate family also grew, with an addition of a daughter-in-law, Lauren Orr, a son-in-law, Tom TK Kelly, and two beautiful granddaughters, Elizabeth and Madeline Orr, whom she loved more than anything. The family in Brenham didn stop there. Soon thereafter her brother and sister-in-law Lawson and Cindy Orr bought land just miles from the ranch, where their kids could bring their babies and all the Orrs would spend time growing up together. Some of Trebies favorite pastimes in Brenham were spent feeding and watching her birds, date time with Michael, monthly Cutters Wives birthday lunches, and visits from family where she baked cookies with Elizabeth every chance she could. It wasn uncommon to find her home filled with friends, family, and many many Many dogs. Michael always said that Mom was the glue of our family, creating bonds and traditions that will live on forever. It was always good to go home or to be together as a family where ever we were. Laughter at 3:00am was typical at the Orr Family table. Holidays were her favorite times of year, and starting in you would find her filling her spiral tablet with notes on birthday and Christmas gifts and lists for Everything. Christmas traditions were solid, with monogrammed stockings for everyone, and every family ornament having its own story. The most special being the lighted Angel tree topper that has topped their tree since their first Christmas as man and wife. Christmas Eve came with a loud game of Crazy Christmas with family, and every friend who wanted to join in on the Orr Family fun was always welcome. Family birthdays always consisted of her making your choice of homemade cake or dessert plus Blue Bell Ice Cream. Even if we were not celebrating at home, she would bring her cake to where ever we were going to celebrate. She always said Birthday cakes are suppose to be homemade and your choice! You Always felt special because she made sure of it. Restless, shed rarely be seen off her feet. If someone asked where something was, there continued... |
