Obituary: Hubert Eugene OQuinn, 93, of Pollok, the son of the late Alma Hannah (Riley) and Wiley OQuinn, was born 18, 1917 in Nacogdoches , and died 29, 2011 in a local hospital. Mr. OQuinn graduated from Central High School and later joined the Civil Service. He and Myrtle Dunn were married in 1942. He went into the Army and served his country in Africa and France during World War II. Mr. OQuinn had been a supervisor at Lufkin Industries. He farmed and raised cattle and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a member of Pollok Baptist Church. Survivors include daughter, Barbara Ann OQuinn of Pollok; grandson, Roy David OQuinn of Lufkin; daughter-in-law, Barbara L. OQuinn of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, John Riley and Janette OQuinn of Pollok and Clyde and Jane OQuinn of Huntington; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. OQuinn is preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle (Dunn) OQuinn; son, David OQuinn; sisters, Marie Spencer, Gladys Martin, Jean Evans; and brothers, Cecil and Clifton OQuinn. Pallbearers will be Riley Dean OQuinn, Ben OQuinn, Cody OQuinn, Leland Sanford, Reagan Sanford and Keith Spencer. Honorary pallbearers will be the Green Shack Gang, Terry OQuinn and Jay Don Bailey. Services for Mr. OQuinn will be held at 2:00 p.m. , May 1, 2011 in the Gipson Chapel with Rev. Joe Carrier and Bro. Ford Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Gann . The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. evening at Gipson . Condolences may be offered at www.gipsonfuneralhome.com Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson |

Obituary: Frances Nancy Finnell OÂQuinn, age 87, formerly Nancy Harris, passed into the hands of the Lord , 22, 2007, with her family at her bedside. She was born 10, 1919, in Troy, Texas, to David and Dovie Thompson Finnell. She taught school at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church and became their Director of Education. She later began working as a paraprofessional in the Alamo Heights Independent School District and then taught high risk students at Alamo Heights Junior High School. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Leland Harris; 2nd husband, Edgar OÂQuinn; sister, Celeste Musick; and brother, Allan Finnell. Nancy is survived by sons, Craig L. Harris and wife, Coleen of San Antonio, Texas, Robin L. Harris and wife, Tacy of Littleton, Colorado; brother, David Finnell of Hurst, Texas; niece, Gay Lytal of Bedford, Texas; grandchildren, Suzanne Hansen and husband, Peter, Jennifer Harris of San Antonio, Megan Harris of Arlington, Texas and Christopher Harris of Littleton, Colorado; great-granddaughter, Meredith Hernandez of San Antonio; several nieces and nephews.
