Obituary: Marjorie Marge Julius OHern, a Christian woman defined by her catholic faith; loving wife of 41 years; patient mother of 5 children; doting grandmother of 7 grandchildren; kind person to her friends at Atria; passed peacefully from this world to heaven while surrounded by her children and covered in prayer from family and friends at 6 AM on , 25, 2016 at The Hospice of East Texas Place. Marge was born in the small town of Walsenburg, Colorado on 16, 1928. She, her older sister, Helen and brother, Pete moved to Pueblo, Colorado where she spent her childhood playing on goat hill, working in a soda fountain shop and generally enjoying life. Her mother, Annie Baba Hill taught Marge the importance of hard work and frugalness as she worked multiple jobs during the depression era. She won a bicycle for best costume in the Pueblo city parade. She was the Statue of Liberty pulled on a platform made of wood and roller skates and pulled by her brother. Wanting to see the world, she became an airline stewardess and made many trips around the country. On 21, 1954 Marge married Larkin OHern and they began a 41 year journey with stops in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Casper, Wyoming, Houston, Texas and finally Tyler, Texas. Marge was emphatic that her children receive a Catholic education and as such all five children are graduates of St. Gregory and T.K. Gorman. In between taking the kids to school, sporting events, swimming lessons at fun forest, and boat outings at the Tyler Petroleum club marina, in her spare time, she was a long time member of the Tyler Petroleum Wives Club and the Immaculate Conception Church Altar Society. Marge leaves a legacy to those who knew her of someone who was always giving, compassionate, and caring. We cannot tell you how many times we were stopped in the hallways of Atria Willow Park by her neighbors as well as during conversation with long-time Tylerite friends, who commented what a genuinely nice person our mother is. Throughout her 41 years of marriage, she modeled for her children what a good Christian mother looks like. She set the example for her family and those who knew her, the priorities of life: God, family and everything else! She carved out special time with each of her children. She really enjoyed cooking and on most holidays she could be found with son, Tim bantering about the best way to prepare the food. She and daughter Molly were life-long shopping partners and 3 days before she passed, she looked at Molly and asked if they could go shopping. Son, Larkins favorite memory is skipping class at Gorman and sneaking out to lunch with mom. Not many moms would do that. Daughter, Ann remembers how much Marge loved to travel and has wonderful memories of a recent trip to Washington D.C. Son, Chucks favorite memories were time spent alone with mom as they travelled through Europe and the Orient. Marge was an outstanding mother and role model for five children, Ann Schroeder, Larkin OHern, Chuck OHern, Tim OHern and Molly Enders. Her legacy is generational. She lived to watch seven grandchildren grow into fine young men and women. Grandchildren include: Andrea, Stephen and Saxton (Steve & Ann Schroeder of Arlington Texas), Leigh and Kevin (Joe and Molly Enders of Tyler) and Larkin and Scott (Cindy and Larkin OHern of Station). The OHern family would be honored with your attendance at the visitation for friends and family on , 28, 2016 from 5-7 PM at Lloyd James . Rosary will be from 7-8 PM following visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be , 29, 2016 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1435 E. Southeast Loop 323, Tyler. Interment will be in Rose Hill , 2400 S. Donnybrook Ave. Tyler, Texas 75701. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials in the name of Marge OHern, to Tyler Catholic School Foundation at P.O. Box 131175, Tyler, TX 75713; or, in honor of Marge, this week, do an unexpected, unsolicited act of kindness for someone you don know. The five O'Hern children would like to sincerely pass on our thanks for the compassion, professionalism, love and care shown by the staffs of Atria Willow Park, Mother Frances Hospital, SCIU and The Hospice of East Texas. |

Obituary: It is with heavy heart, but joyous remembrance, that the family of Timothy I. O'Hearn, announce his unexpected death on 13, 2013 in Austin, Texas. Born on 5, 1950, Omaha, NE to William J. O'Hearn and Roberta H. O'Hearn, Tim was a beloved son, faithful brother, and overjoyed father, grandfather, and uncle to the family he came to selflessly and graciously lead. To them, to his colleagues, and to his many, many friends- which he could make with the turn of his head and a flash of his personal, if not mischievous smile- he will, as he always has, exemplify generosity, empathy, and wry-while-deeply-felt humanity. For the past 35 years, Tim proudly served as President of Austin Foam Plastics, a company he helped build, and continually grow, from the ground up. During that 35 years leading Austin Foam, he labored passionately and spoke eloquently about expanding the scope of his business for the paramount reason of helping to facilitate a livelihood for his employees, his employees' families, and the employees of companies he did business with on three continents. In doing so, he constantly worked to raise the scale of standard compensation for those he worked alongside- as he recognized them: not as subordinates, but as co-workers in delivering excellence to their customers and to each other. Despite his means, which he primarily used to enrich the lives of his loved ones and benefit the charitable work of numerous local arts and philanthropic organizations, Tim delighted personally in simple, irreplaceable, and unpretentious pleasures: laughter; the kindness, maturity, individuality, humility, and personal success (especially athletic success) of his adored daughters and grandchildren; the comfort and amusement of his cherished mother Roberta, the matriarch from whom he learned his strong sense of equality; a well-planned, while approachable and frequent, reunion of his family; a gift, whatever the size, that might make someone's life feel more dignified and achievable; personal responsibility through encouragement; the truth that all people have something in them worth hearing; listening; speaking (yes, maybe bawdily when called for); watching as others realized the greatness he knew always resided in them; Bob Dylan; The Beatles; having once touched George Harrison's shoulder on a tarmac in Houston as a teenager; honesty; sharing. He said often how blessed he was to see and interact in the world through frequent travel, but more so, he relished in being able to give the gift of travel, and so self-knowledge, to his many family members and friends. Preceded in death by his father William "Bill" O'Hearn and brother Patrick "Bart" O'Hearn, Tim is survived by his cherished mother Roberta H. O'Hearn; his daughter Abello, son-in-law Carlos Abello and grandchildren Carlos William Abello and Mia Kathryn Abello; his daughters Katherine Devan O'Hearn, Dacey Marie O'Hearn, and their mother Helen O'Hearn; his brothers and sisters: Shawn O'Hearn and wife Charlotte O'Hearn; Chris Satterfield; Brock O'Hearn and wife Carol O'Hearn; Peggy Chancellor and husband Dewayne Chancellor; Kevin O'Hearn and wife Sandy O'Hearn; and Heather O'Hearn Black; as well as many nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews, whom Tim doted on, supported, and loved profoundly with individual attention and affection. His life was a grand, larger-than-mortality tribute to us all. In lieu of flowers, and in the spirit of Tim's personal dedication to philanthropy, the family requests individuals and groups to send donations to charities of their choosing in Tim's memory. The O'Hearn family also asks that Tim be remembered in your prayers, as he would have remembered you in his. |

Obituary: Robert (Bob) Franklin OHara was born near Manito Illinois on the 18th of 1927 and went to join our Heavenly Father on the 24th of 2017. He graduated from Forest City High School near Manito Illinois. He proudly served in the US Air Force in the Korean War and upon return to the US, he was transferred to Goodfellow Air Base in San Angelo Texas. Robert met and married Juanita (Petsie) Marie Moeller while at Goodfellow. Upon honorable discharge, Bob joined the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller. He and his lovely bride transferred to Midland Texas where he worked 25 years prior to his retirement in 1981. With Bobs excellent service and record at the FAA, an air intersection called Victor 81 (near Ft Stockton) was named after him. It was and is known as The OHara intersection. Bob and Juanita started and raised a large Catholic family (5 kids) mostly in Midland with one short year in Austin Texas. The family was and continues to be active members of St. Anns Catholic Church in Midland. He is survived by his wife of 60 years (Juanita); brother Jim (wife Ruth); daughters Teresa (husband Mike Jones); Carla (husband Steve Spencer); sons Gordon and Greg (wife Sherri); daughter-in-law Laura OHara; grandchildren Brad, Matt, Katelynn, Nick, Braden, Lindsey, Mason and great grandchildren Mason, Brennyn, Blake, Luke. He is preceded by parents George and Della OHara (step-father J.V. Sunderland), son Kevin, brothers (Bill, Don, John) and sisters (Bonnie & Jean). One of Bobs many passions was writing and singing country music. He spent many hours volunteering Midland Senior , VFW and Amvets to name a few. The family wishes to thank the many excellent folks at The Village at Manor Park for many excellent years of care for Bob (and Juanita while visiting) and for truly treating Dad and Mom like family. Also, the family wishes to thank Hospice of Midland for excellent care. Visitation will be at Ellis on Feb 26th from 6 to 8pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm. Mass will be held at St. Anns Catholic Church on Feb 27th at 2 pm with graveside services immediately following at Resthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your charity of choice or St. Anns Catholic Church at 1906 W. Texas, Midland, TX 79701. Eulogy: Hello, my name is Brad Barnhill. Im the oldest grandchild and my mother (Teresa) is the oldest of 5 children. Today, I have the honor of sharing some stories from our loving family about Robert (Bob) OHara whom I affectionately called simply Grandad. I would like to tell a story of how a small deed my Grandad did which would ultimately touch and shape my life as he may have done so with many of you. I attended San Angelo State. In my senior year, I was working 30-40 hours while taking 20 hours for some unspeakable reason. The truth is that I was very burned out and may have been secretly looking for a way to take a break or even quit school. I thought the budget was sorted out until I saw the bill for books and additional lab fees and quickly realized this might be a legitimate chance to quit. There was no more money available and mom suggested grandad may be able to help. I wasn ever going to ask him (he had the reputation for being. lets say frugal.. Long story short, he loaned me the money. So the entire situation kind of had the opposite effect. Instead of quitting college that semester, somehow I continued on and here we are a few days or years later. Lets just say its a little extra motivation when someone puts stock in you despite lifes tipped balls. He did that day. DONT QUIT My Mom has another perspective on what happened back then which I would also like to share. She went on to explain how much grandad loved me and often bragged about me to everyone he knew. She was sure that he probably took credit for his helping me achieve all my success to this day. Mom went on to explain how she wanted me to understand his complicated & what I deemed a frugal life. Grandad had grown up during and after the depression days, lost his dad at a young age and how he helped financially finish raising his younger siblings with him working odd jobs, etc,,,. She went on to explain how grandad had joined the US Airforce to better his family situation. I guess it all turned out according to Gods plan. On a lighter note, my Mom recalls how she used to like paint her Dads toe nails and curl his hair. She explains how she had some pink hair rollers she would put in his hair. One particular event sort of put an end to the curlers. Apparently she had put the curlers in her Dads hair just in time for one of his friends to stop by the house to pick up something. her Dad was frantically running around the house in an attempt to remove them, she had quickly opened the front door and let his long time friend (Oscar) in just in time to see the pink rollers in his hair. Needless to say that was the last time her Dad let her do this. My many cousins (Matt, Nick, Katelynn, Braden) share similar stories for memories of how my Grandad touched their lives at an early age. Most of my cousins affectionately called him Pee Paw. My cousin Matt explained how Pee Paw would dress up as Santa Claus and visit his school. At the time, Pee Paw was fairly slim and of course did not have the Santa Claus like features. He had put on his fake beard to show up at his class continued... |
