Obituary: Tommy Lee Ogletree was born 7, 1924 in Jefferson Alabama. He went to be with the Lord on , 3, 2014. He was 89 years old. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Hershell and Paralee Ogletree, his brothers and sisters, Louise Brown, Grace Waldrop Ellen Ledlow, Peggy Parvin, Robert "Peck" Ogletree and an infant sister. Tommy leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Bernice Ogles Ogletree, three children and their spouses, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. His children are Charlene (Terry) Baldwin, Rickey (Sharon) Ogletree and Tim (Barbara) Ogletree. His grandchildren are Lee (Lesley) Baldwin, Chad Baldwin, Angela (Richard) Ogletree-Colburn, Brett Baldwin, Blake Baldwin, Ben (Kaitlin) Ogletree and Joey (Alexis) Ogletree. His great-grandchildren, are Brittany Baldwin and Justin Chamblee, Peyton Baldwin, Aaron White, Kamryn Baldwin and Jaxon Ogletree. His great-great-grandchildren are Madalynn and Maddox Chamblee. Tommy is a member of the "greatest-generation" and is a World War II Navy Veteran. He attended the Fieldstown Church of God in Gardendale and loved his Church family. Tommy worked and retired from Ingalls Ironworks in Birmingham Alabama. Tommy has been described by his family as a devoted father, faithful husband, loving, hard-worker and provider. He was "tough as nails" with a "heart of gold". His family and friends will miss him very much. Services will be held at Ridouts Gardendale Chapel with a visitation , 6 from 6pm-8pm, a funeral on , 7 at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Elvester in Warrior, AL, with Military Honors. |

Obituary: Mount Olive, Alabama. Reverend Ottis Lawton Ogletree (Brother Ogletree), 91, died early morning on 29, 2016 at his home following a short battle with oral cancer. Brother Ogletree served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 21, 1943 to 20, 1946. Around age 20, he surrendered to the call to preach the gospel and was ordained as a minister at Beechwood Baptist Church in Mt. Olive, Alabama. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Samford University and his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Brother Ogletree loved the Lord and pastored several community churches throughout Alabama while serving as a full-time and bi-vocational pastor for over 60 years. He lead many people to Christ throughout his lifetime as a pastor, and while working in the grocery business for over 40 years at Foodland and Winn Dixie. He also taught ministry classes at the North Jefferson Baptist Association through the Samford Universitys and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminarys accredited student extension programs. Brother Ogletree shared the gospel with anyone he came in contact with. Brother Ogletree loved his family. Survived by his wife, Grace Kilgo Ogletree for over 71 wonderful years of marriage, they had four children: Cecelia Pearce of Gardendale, Alabama, Cheryl Hardin of Gardendale, Alabama, Lawton Gene Ogletree (spouse, Cathy Ogletree) of Chelsea, Alabama, and Connie Hill of Bradford, Alabama. Not only was he a loving husband and father, he was also a proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren (preceded in death by one), as well as recently becoming a great-great-grandfather in the last few weeks of his life. Born in Blount , Alabama, Brother Ogletree is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy P. and Lizzie Mosely Ogletree. Survived by his brother, Bishop Ogletree of Cullman , Alabama, he is preceded in death by five sisters and one brother. services will be held at Ridouts Gardendale Chapel, located at 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, on , 1, 2016. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., with funeral services at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Mt. Olive Baptist .
