Obituary: Margaret S. Colyer Osterhoudt, 95 years of age, of Oneonta died , 14, 2017 at the A.O. Fox . She was born 10, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Turk) Schager. She married Robert E. Colyer in 1945 in Brooklyn. Robert predeceased her on 18, 1997. On 14, 2003 she married Carl M. Osterhoudt at St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, Oneonta. Carl predeceased her on 4, 2011. While living in New York City, Margaret was a stenographer for RCA Communications, Inc. She was also a general office clerk in New York City. She moved to Oneonta in 1951. Margaret was a doll hobbyist, having collected many dolls. She also enjoyed sewing and doing crafts, playing Bingo, cooking, and taking bus trips with the various local organizations. She was a member of St. Marys Church, Oneonta, the Oneotna V.F.W. Post #1206, the AARP and Catskill Area Hospice. Margaret also volunteered her time for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile, Oneonta. Margaret is survived by Carls children, Carol Ann Schimmerling of Oneonta and Jerry and Lori Osterhoudt of Oneonta; their children, Krystal and Mike Copperwheat and daughter, Kendra Rose; and Gavin and Logan Osterhoudt; a longtime friend and caregiver, Helen Hopler of Oneonta; as well as several cousins. A funeral mass will be held on , 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. James Episcopal Church, 305 Main Street, Oneonta with the Rev. David Mickiewicz officiating. Burial will follow in the Oneonta Plains . Obituary: Fleischmanns- Mr. Donald W. Osterhoudt of Schneider Avenue, died on 12, 2015 at the Mountainside Residential in Margaretville. He was a native and life long Catskill Mountains resident who was born 28, 1928 in Arena, son of the late Stanley and Lillian Jones Osterhoudt. Donald was a life member of the Fleischmanns Fire Department. He had been an excellent and skilled snow groomer of trails at Belleayre Mountain for over 30 years, having retired upon reaching his mid-70s. He was the model of the Great Depression Era generation, who valued his family, work, and country. He and Charlie Maxim serviced over 40 lawns, all while working his full-time job. He and his wife Peg took an active role in raising their children, and making it to all of their functions and activities. He volunteered as the property caretaker for the Fleischmanns Methodist Church. In his spare time, Don enjoyed tinkering with small engine repairs. Surviving are his daughters: Meganne and her husband Rusty Balcom of Fleischmanns, and Donna and her husband Russ Gould of PA, and a son Richard and his wife Christine Osterhoudt of Margaretville. A sister Barbara Shultis, and brother Frank Osterhoudt both of FL. 7 grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2004, and siblings: Thelma, Douglas, Harrison, Gertrude, Margaret, and Marilyn. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Donald will be held at the E. B. Gormley on at 8pm with Rev. Ralph Darmstadt as celebrant. Spring burial in the Bedell . Friends will be received on from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8pm at the E. B. Gormley 87 Main St. Phoenicia. Memorial contributions may be made to the Osterhoudt Scholarship Fund c/o Margaretville Central Schools.
