Obituary: Robert H. St. Onge, 74, of Candia died 26, 2006 at his residence after a long illness. Born in Manchester on 14, 1932, he was the son of William and Mary (Royer) St. Onge. He lived in Manchester many years before moving to Candia 25 years ago. During the early 1950s he served in the US Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Post 91 in Candia. Mr. St. Onge worked as a milkman for H.P. Hood and as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for many years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman. The family includes his wife of 52 years, Annette E. (Talbot) St. Onge of Candia; five children, Diane Morin of Raymond, Michael St. Onge of Manchester, Lynn Rheaume of Raymond, Anne Cavagnaro of Deering and Peter St. Onge of Bow; three sisters, Lorraine Guyette of Dunbarton, Jeannette Filteau of Goffstown and Rita Duval of Manchester; a brother, Roger St. Onge of Manchester and cousins, nieces and nephews. IN HIS LIFE: The family also includes his grandchildren, Holly, Jessica, Trevor, Marcus, Kellie, Tyler, Corey, Kasie, Sarah and Christopher. He was predeceased by three siblings, Fern Marcoux, Doris Roy and Maurice St. Onge. Obituary: Richard E. St. Onge, 69, of Manchester died 5, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and he passed with incredible dignity in the same manner he lived his life. He was born in Manchester on 4, 1945 the son of Maurice and Therese (Paquin) St. Onge. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester where he graduated from Bishop Bradley High School and later New Hampshire . He proudly served his country in the US Army and served in Vietnam in 1969. He received the Army Commendation Medal from the Secretary of the Army on 11, 1969. His career focused in accounting and business management. He was employed at NH Ball Bearings, the Aaron Foods Corporation, Tage Inn Corporation and later with the State of New Hampshire Department of and Human Services as Long Term Budget Director. He loved golf, long drives in his convertible, grilling by the pool and the time he spent at his Florida home in Ft. Myers. Most importantly, he loved his best friend and soul mate Sylvia and his family. Richard was a proud man, enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and wanted nothing more than his family to be happy and healthy. Undoubtedly he is playing on a beautiful golf course in the sky and looking fondly with pride upon all those that he loved on earth. He is survived by his wife Sylvia (Henault) St. Onge. Sylvia was the love of his life and they enjoyed a marriage filled with love, laughter and pride for 47 years. He has two loving children, Ken St. Onge and Joleen (St. Onge) Stephen. Other members of his family include his daughter in law, Shannon (Cean) St. Onge and his son in law Robert S. Stephen, his 5 grandchildren, Jack, Drew and Carly Stephen, Emily St. Onge and Peter Bennett Jr., his sister Denise McCarthy and brother in law Richard McCarthy, his sister in law Jacqueline Sweezy (predeceased by her husband Bill Sweezy) and many nephews and nieces and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on , 10, 2015 at St Maries Church, in Manchester. Committal Prayers, with military honors, followed at the Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, in Manchester. Born in Manchester on 13, 1929, he was the son Daniel A. and Mary (Jennings) ONeil. He graduated St. Joseph High School, class of 1947 and St. Anselm , class of 1951. He served in the Korean War as an Air Force commissioned officer. William was employed at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC from 1953 to 1958 as an administrative assistant while attending and graduating from Georgetown University Law School. He earned his JD in 1957 and a masters degree in 1958. Bill served in the NH Attorney Generals office from 1958 to 1967 prior to leaving as deputy Attorney General. He then served as a prosecutor for the City of Manchester (1967-1970), Associate Justice Manchester District Court (1970-1983), and Associate Justice in NH Superior Court (1983-1994). He was a member of the NH and Manchester Bar Associations, the Administrative Committee for District and Municipal Courts in the 1970s, the NH Judicial Conduct Committee (1977-1983), American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post #2, the Elks Club and the Raphael Social Club. The family would like to thank the Central NH VNA for the wonderful care they provided Bill during his final days. Obituary: Joan Mae ONeil, 80, of Manchester, passed away 20, 2008 at the Catholic Medical after a period of declining health. She was born on May 21, 1928, in Manchester, the daughter of Lawrence J. Mitchell and Mary Elizabeth (Mahan) Mitchell, who had emigrated from Roscommon, Ireland. Joan was educated at St. Raphael Grammar School and graduated from Manchester High School West. Prior to retirement, she had been employed by the City of Manchester Department for many years. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching Bostons professional sports teams, especially the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, and Patriots. She also followed Notre Dame and Boston football. She supported numerous local athletic organizations including St. Anne CYO Basketball, Henry J. Sweeney Post American Legion Baseball, Manchester Babe Ruth League, and Trinity High School Athletics. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith and was a longtime parishioner of St. Anne Church. She had most recently been a communicant of St. Anne-St. in Parish. Above all else, she was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, Godmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel P. ONeil in 1984. Family members include her daughter, Kathleen Courchesne of Manchester; three sons, Daniel P. ONeil and his wife Karyn of Manchester, Patrick ONeil of Manchester, and Brian ONeil and his wife Kristin of Manchester; four grandchildren, Charles and Matthew Courchesne, and Jack and Kathleen ONeil, all of Manchester; one brother, Lawrence J. Mitchell and his wife Norma of Manchester. She was predeceased by her only sister and her husband, Dorothy and Paul Mahoney. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Kathleen Noonan and her husband George of Wrentham, MA; two brothers-in-law, William ONeil and his wife Grace of Manchester, and Denis ONeil and his wife Celia of Manchester; many nephews, nieces, cousins, and close friends. The Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on , 25, 2008 in St. Anne- in Church, Beech St, with the Rev. Msgr. John Quinn officiating. Burial followed in St. Joseph , Bedford. Obituary: Hugh R. Dewey ONeil, 71, of Bedford, died peacefully 3, 2013 at the Catholic Medical surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Manchester on 15, 1941, the son of Catherine (Thornton) ONeil and Hugh R. ONeil, former Editor-in-Chief of the Manchester Union Leader. He was educated in the local school system, graduating from Bishop Bradley in 1959. He attended St. Marys in Halifax and earned his bachelors degree (by the skin of his teeth) from St. Anselm in 1964. He graduated Officer Candidate School and served during the Vietnam War. During the war, at the ripe old age of 24, he lead young men he referred to as kids as a Marine Corp engineer, alternatively building and blowing up bridges. He earned two Purple Hearts, and the pride he felt being a Marine was one he carried with him all his days. Dewey was owner and operator of the Hugh R. ONeil Real Estate for many years. In his 30 years of service, his gift of gab and persuasive ways helped him raise millions of dollars on behalf of Easter Seals. He was also involved in Catholic Charities as well as serving as the Commander in Chief of the now-defunct Bedford chapter of the IRA. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed. His sense of humor is legendary to all who knew him, and has been passed down to at least two surviving generations. Family members include his wife of 47 years Joan (Thornton) ONeil of Bedford; two sons, Hugh DJ ONeil and wife Renee of San Francisco; Michael ONeil of Lebanon; one daughter, Erin Hendrick and husband Greg of Newton, MA; four grandchildren, Finn and Macie ONeil of San Francisco, Jack and Ryan Hendrick of Newton, MA; one sister, Mary Alice Venuto and husband Lou of Potomac, MD; many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas ONeil in 2011. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on , 7, 2013 in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Meetinghouse Road, Bedford. Burial with military honors followed in the NH State Veterans , Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Easter Seals of NH, 555 Auburn St, Manchester, NH 03103 or to the Santa Fund, of the NH Union Leader, PO Box 9555, Manchester, NH 03108. |
