Obituary: Edward John Osak Ozzie age 90 a longtime resident of Warren, Michigan died 8, 2014 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. Edward was born 4, 1924 in Detroit Michigan the son of the late John and Lottie (nee: Grzymkowski) Osak. Ed was raised in Hamtramck and attended St. Ladislaus High School, however protecting his country came first before thinking of graduation... Ed was a proud American through and through and left School early to enlist with the United States Army. He served with the 25th Army Infantry Division in the Phililipines. Eds division set a record of 165 Consecutive day in battle. Ed was wounded during combat and in 1945 received a Purple Heart. On 7, 2002 Edward Osak was presented his High School Diploma from former Governor John Engler, this was one of Ed and his familys proudest moments. During his life Ed worked as a manager at various Body Shops in Hamtramck. Ed was affectionately known in the community as Ozzie. Always quick witted Ed had a joke for all whom he met. He also walked the path Christ laid for him and constantly chose to help those in need. Ed Volunteered at various soup kitchens and worked for Forgotten Harvest delivering food where needed. Later in life Ed met and married his dear wife Dolores in 1981. The two stayed active and Ed being an avid bowler even bowling up until last month, kept up on sports including the Tigers and the Lions, loved to fish, and again help others less fortunate. He met his buddies every at Krispy Kreme Donuts for the start of his day and many laughs. Obituary: Bruno Joseph Osak, age 90 of Warren, died , 28, 2016 at St. John Hospital in Detroit. He was born May 19, 1926 in Hamtramck, son of the late Joseph and the late Agnes (nee: Kozlowska) Osak. With thanks and praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Bruno for his service to our country during World War II. As a sailor in the U.S. Navy, he attained the rank of Motor Machinist Mate 3rd Class (MOMM3c) and served from 1944 thru May 1946. For the sacrifices made and his willingness to stand in harms way for the sake of freedom, we honor his patriotism and bravery and extend our posthumous gratitude for the part he played in affording us the liberties we enjoy today...because he was there! Growing up in Hamtramck , Bruno was fortunate to have begun his educational path by attending, and graduating from, Detroits prestigious, Cass Tech High School. Following his service to our country, he resumed his path of learning at the University of Michigan where he proudly received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. With these impressive credentials under his belt, it is no surprise that he was quickly snatched up by the automotive giant, the Chrysler Corporation. extending the utmost in dedication through his engineering prowess over many years, Bruno accepted his well-deserved retirement with pride in a job well done. Prior to all of that lies a heartwarming story of a boy who met a girl,…boy woos the girl,…and eventually, the boy was blessed to get the girl which led them both to the altar. What makes this story especially romantic is the fact that the girl just happened to be the girl across the street. And so it was that on 8, 1952, on a beautiful day at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Hamtramck, Bruno shared the vows of marriage with his beloved Dolores and their journey together began which would span over 63 wonderful years. Together they poured the best of themselves into each other, built upon the warmth of home & hearth, and were blessed to raise five beautiful children who, in turn, provided them with an extremely loving and grand extended family. Bruno was well-respected for his hard work ethics and keeping his nose to the grindstone when it mattered. But he also managed to devote some time to a number of things that brought him joy and pleasure. One of these was his penchant for gardening and his love for tending to the landscaping that enveloped his yard. Possessing quite the green thumb and the skills for nurturing the growth of his flowers and plants, the ultimate kudos came the day he received the City of Warrens coveted Beautification Award. He toiled countless hours in attempting to create a thing of splendor,…and obviously he achieved his goal. It was hard work, but the results brought Bruno an incredible amount of pride and joy. Along with his mechanical prowess, Bruno also possessed a bit of the artistic flair which took its form in the many wood carvings he created. Always meticulous and detailed, his artistry with wood was something to behold and an example of the many gifts that lie within the man. For a bit more of the restful pastimes he enjoyed, Bruno was known for being quite the avid reader. He was always sharp as a tack and enjoyed engaging others in intelligent conversation, something which was supported by his love of being informed,…something you get from reading. And for those who truly knew Bruno, itll come as no mystery that he was always on the prowl for that good deal. Bruno was truly a man of faith and was devoted to God in many of the ways he reached out to others. One of these ways was through his brotherhood in the Knights of Columbus. Known for their charitable and fraternal bonds, Bruno enjoyed his membership with the Knights and found great pleasure in making a difference in the community. Within his 40 years as a Knight, he was most honored to have attained the level of 4th Degree. Another charitable gift Bruno enjoyed was embodied in the years he and Dolores spent reaching out to many in their community through their work with the Meals-On-Wheels program. Making sure the needy were fed was quite important to this loving couple, and they truly left their mark. Bruno was a Mans Man, full of character and brimming with his own brand of humor. He kept you on your toes and always kept you thinking. He said a lot of things throughout his life,…but, perhaps, will be remembered most for his longstanding quote; I don care if you love me, I just want you to respect me. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Bruno truly leaves his mark,…not only on the hearts & souls he touched along the way, but in the lessons he taught and the strength he provided, simply, through his own. He leaves a legacy of love that will forever be embraced with each reflection shared,…he will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Bruno was the beloved husband of Dolores. Dearest father of Paul (Georgia) Osak, Mark (Brenda) Osak, Gary (Mary) Osak, Judy (Kenneth) Nutt, and Gail (James) Mazuchowski. He was the loving grandfather of Adam (Joan) Osak, John (Valerie) Osak, Emily (Timothy OMeara) Osak, Elliott Osak, Corey Osak, Maureen (Stephen) Graham, Colleen (Patrick Cooper) Osak, Matthew (Shana) Nutt, Sarah Nutt, Daniel Nutt, Morgan Mazuchowski, Mallory Mazuchowski, Megan Mazuchowski, and great-grandfather of Elizabeth, Kaden, Lorelei, Jurek, Abram, Aaron and Aubrey. He is also survived by one great-great grandchild, Connor. Bruno was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda (the late Walter) Stanecki, and two young brothers. Visitation for Bruno will be held , 31st from 3-9pm, with a 7:00 pm Knights of Columbus Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons , 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. He will lie in state on from 9:30 am until continued... |
