Obituary: OROURKE, Dennis M. - of Grand Blanc, age 78, passed away 11, 2015 at his residence, surrounded by loved ones. Visitation will be held , 15 from 1:00-4:00PM and 6:00-9:00PM at Hill , 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc with a Rosary being prayed at 7PM. Mass will be celebrated 11:00AM , 16 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Fr. Gary Koenigsknecht celebrant. Visitation will also be 10:00AM until time of Mass at church. Dennis was born 31, 1937 in Flint to parents H. Patrick and Agnes (Knopic) ORourke. Dennis graduated from St. Michaels Catholic High School in Flint in 1955. He then went on to graduate from GMI (Kettering) as a mechanical engineer. He was employed by GM the majority of his life, retiring in 1991 as Superintendent of Manufacturing at the Flint Metal . Dennis loved Notre Dame Football, politics, golf, & was very proud of his Irish heritage. He is survived by wife, Shirley; sister, Maureen Capello (Peter), brothers, Tim ORourke, Patrick ORourke (Catherine); children, Trish Marie (Ron Hardenburg), Kathleen Fick (Tim), Michael ORourke (Shelly), Kimberly ORourke (Jeff Takeuchi), Melisa Redmond, Christine Warner (Hank); 10 grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Christine (Witte) ORourke and sister-in-law, Katherine ORourke. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Reverence Hospice and aide, Angela Hill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Schools Memorial Fund. Obituary: O'REILLY, Ruth S. - age 76, of Millington, passed away at her home on 24, 2015. A memorial service will be held 1PM , 30, 2015 at Brown , 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc. The family will receive friends from 12PM to 1PM Ruth was born on 30, 1938 in Flint to the late Rudolph and Ruth Fern Ozanich. Ruth married Fred O'Reilly on 15, 1962 and he preceded her in death on 22, 2011. Ruth served as Trustee and later Treasurer of Arbela Township, Tuscola . She also served as Precinct Delegate for the Democratic Party for eight years. Ruth is survived by two sons, Matt O'Reilly of Millington and Mark (Lori) O'Reilly of Lake George, NY; a granddaughter, Madison Marie O'Reilly of Lake George, NY; and brothers, Richard (Dorothy), Ronald (Connie), and Ralph (Rennsda); and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents and two brothers. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Hospice Advantage. In honor of Ruth's wishes, the family requests NO FLOWERS. Obituary: In Memoriam The angels opened their arms to welcome Mary I. Maureen (Mallon) OReilly into their heavenly choir on morning 13, 2015. Mary passed away peacefully at the American House in Roseville, Michigan. Mary was born on May 12, 1926 in Toome Bridge, Antrim, Northern Ireland. Her musical talent was recognized at an early age and she went on to become a distinguished soprano singer in Ireland, receiving many first place awards in various musical competitions. One of her most memorable performances was Yum-Yum in the musical Mikado. Also, at the early age of 16, Mary took the Pioneer Total Abstinence Pledge of the Sacred Heart vowing to abstain from all alcohol for the rest of her life. Mary never broke this pledge and was very proud that she remained a pioneer all throughout her life. In 1951, Mary came to America to marry Gerald I. OReilly who predeceased her in 1966. She was also predeceased by her brother Fergie Mallon in 1978. Mary was proud of her American citizenship and dedicated her life to raising her four children who were her pride and joy. Marys legacy continues today in her four children: Mary (Patrick) Hughes of Vermont, Kathleen (Delbert) Kahn of Pennsylvania, Colleen OReilly of Michigan and son Kevin OReilly (Ron Terry) of New York. Also her five grandchildren: Michael (Jessica) Endres of Michigan, Patrick Hughes of London England, Carrie OReilly of Colorado, Kevin (Rebecca) Hughes of Connecticut, Maureen (Josh) Ladieu of Boston; and her five great-grandchildren children: Bryson, Aubrey, Kyla, Patrick and Cara. Viewing is at the Kaul on Jefferson Avenue in St. Clair Shores on , 16, 2015 from 5:00 to 9:00pm. In state 9:30am until 10am at which time a Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church on Little Mack Avenue in St. Clair Shores on , 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Holy Sepulchre in Southfield following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be sent to the Capuchin Friars, 1820 Mt. Elliott Street, Detroit, Michigan. |
