Obituary: PEABODY- Mr. Rolf H. Owens Sr. 91, of Brooksby Village Peabody formerly of Lynnfield, beloved husband of H. Louise (Conley) Owens, died 7th, 2014 with his devoted wife by his side. Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Frank and Ruth (Hanson) Owens, he was raised and educated in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. He continued his education at Bentley University and his earned his Masters degree from Suffolk University. An honorably discharged veteran, Rolf served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He flew on the Boeing B-17 Dubbed the Flying Fortress. It was known as the Queen of Bombers and Rolf handed his position as gunner with precision serving many missions and always returning safely home after a objective accomplished. Mr. Owens had been employed in the printing and publishing fields. He began his professional career with the Kemper Insurance and matriculated to Ginn Publishing . More recently he had been associated with the Xerox for over 20 years until the time of his retirement. A resident of the Town of Lynnfield for over 50 years, Rolf was a member of the Congregational Church in Lynnfield. A master Mason, Rolf was a member of the Zetland Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Lynnfield. He enjoyed spending his time bowling, golfing, boating and dinners with family and friends. He will be deeply missed. Rolf is survived by his wife of 68 years, H. Louise (Conley) Owens of Peabody, his daughter, Donna Herhold and her husband Michael of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, his son, Rolf H. Owens Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Beverly, his grandchildren, Barbara Kellenbenz, Brian Berry and Joscelyn Owens, his great grandchildren, Jack, Riley and Regan Kellenbenz, his niece and nephew, Leslie Herrmann and Jeffrey Owens, his grandnephew, Christopher Ofstein and many extended family including his cousin Harald Ekrheim & family of Norway. He was also the brother of the late Frank Owens. ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in the Peterson-ODonnell 167 Maple St. (Rte 62) Danvers , 11th at 12 noon. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hour prior to the service from 11 to 12 Noon. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Obituary: EASTON—-Ralph L. Owens Jr., 90, a resident of Easton for the past 69 years, died , 12, 2014 at home under the devoted care of his niece and godchild, Paula Anne Owens of Easton. He was the husband of the late Natalie M. (Miller) Owens for 60 years. Born in Brockton on 20, 1923, a son of the late Ralph L. and Blanche (Bellavance) Owens Sr., he was raised and educated in Brockton. A veteran of WWII, Ralph served in the 397th Infantry, 100th Division of the US Army. Ralph spent 3 1/2 years in England, France and Germany. He participated in the the Battle of the Bulge as well as the Battle of the Vosges Mountains Campaign and was a recipient the Bronze Star for his heroism and meritorious service. Upon honorable discharge from the US Army, Ralph began his career with Bay State Gas and was employed for many years retiring as a supervisor. A founding member of the Holy Cross Church in Easton he was a dedicated usher of the 4 p.m. Mass and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society at Holy Cross. An active volunteer for the American Cancer Society he served as past President of the Brockton Chapter. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion both of Easton and a longtime member of the Council of Aging in Brockton and Easton as well as a member of Easton TRIAD. Ralph and his wife enjoyed spending time at their vacation home in Humarock and traveling. He was an avid hunter. Ralphs love of good food was a huge part of his life, sharing stories of the marvelous meals he had enjoyed. In 2011, Ralph along with his late brother Harry, were honorary Grand Marshals of the VFW parade. Throughout his life, he and his late wife Natalie would faithfully attend reunions of the 397th Infantry, 100th Division. Ralph is survived by a brother, Roy E. Owens and his wife Marlene of Easton; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Robert Dianne Owens of Whitman; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was also the brother of the late Robert E. Owens and Harry F. Owens. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, on at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, Easton, at 11:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in Pine Hill , West Bridgewater. Obituary: EASTON—-Marlene B. (Gozzelino) Owens, 80, a resident of Easton for the past 59 years, died peacefully with her family at her side, , May 28, 2015 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical in Boston after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Roy E. Owens for more than 60 years. Born in Pittsfield on 3, 1934, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Pellizzari) Gozzelino, she was raised in Pittsfield until the age of 9 and moved to Taunton where she was a 1951 graduate of Taunton High School. Marlene continued her education and was a 1954 graduate of Brockton Hospital School of where she received her degree as a registered nurse. Marlene began her working career as a registered nurse for Brockton Hospital. Later, she was employed as a school nurse for the Town of Easton Public Schools and was the first appointed nurse for the Oliver Ames Hockey Team. A founding member and communicant of the Holy Cross Church in Easton, she was the first president of the Holy Cross Womens Club and also taught the first educational religious class for high school students at Holy Cross Church. A former active volunteer at the Holy Cross Retreat House at Stonehill , her greatest accomplishment she felt was her husband, five children, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. An avid knitter and crafter, Marlene was the proprietor of Huggable Bears of Easton and for 25 years she traveled thru out Massachusetts exhibiting her crafts. She enjoyed reading, black jack, playing various card games, traveling and trips to Aruba. In addition to her husband Roy, she is survived by four children, Suzanne Owens-Pike and her husband Douglas of Minneapolis, MN., Jeffrey J. Owens of Dover, NH., Laurie A. Owens of Avon, and Christopher M. Owens and his wife Jennifer (Kim) of Huntington Beach, CA. and the late Timothy Owens; eight grandchildren, Kaitlin, Marianne, Jonathan, Michael, Hannah, Natalie, Kyle, and Hailee; one great grandchild, Adalyn; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
