Obituary: Morton - Marllene Ogden, 86, of Morton, passed away from this life, with her family at her side, into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 3:25 a.m. , Feb. 13, 2016, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton. Born May 3, 1929, in Steger, Ill., to Farris and Marguerite (Rutledge) Harland, she married Marion Ogden on 15, 1949, in Canton. He survives. To this union are three surviving children, Kent (Dena) Ogden of Wee Ma Tuk Hills, Cuba, Ill., Linda (Larry) Eskildsen of Germantown Hills and Rebecca (Chuck) Boysen of Washington; 11 grandchildren, Shelley Patterson, Caleb Ogden, Rachel Ogden, Emily Ogden, Eric Pond, Christopher Pond, Brett Pond, Brandon Worner, Benjamin Worner, Austin Worner and Alena Boysen; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lavore Amgwert of Lincoln, Neb., and Patricia Slocum of Peoria. She was preceded in death by one son, Edward Lee; and one grandson, Andrew Jacob Worner. Following high school, Marllene worked for International Harvester as a key punch operator in Canton until her first child was born. several years she became the Society Editor for the Canton Daily Ledger newspaper until moving to Morton in 1971. She then was hired by Caterpillar Inc. as a secretary for a plant manager, then became Personnel Coordinator for Buildings HH and BB. Following their retirement from Caterpillar, she and her husband became group travel co-hosts for Peoria Charter Coach retiring after 13 years. She and her husband loved traveling, beginning with camping trips with their children, then later visited many countries around the world. A 45-year member of Grace Church in Morton, Marllene was devoted in her Christian faith and in her early years worked in Christian education and loved singing in choirs, quartets, trios, and duets with her husband. Marllene was a devoted wife to her husband of 66 years, a loving mother to her children and a loving, caring grandmother to her 11 surviving grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Marllenes family wishes to express their appreciation for the outstanding and loving care she received at Apostolic Christian Restmor. Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. , Feb. 18, 2016, at Grace Church in Morton, with Pastor Doug Habegger and Pastor Tim Bertsche officiating. The family will greet friends at a luncheon and fellowship to be held immediately following the service. Private burial of the cremated remains will be in Hirstein in Morton. Knapp-Johnson and Cremation in Morton is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to Grace Church, the Alzheimers Association or to the Apostolic Christian Restmor Evergreen Activities Fund. |

Obituary: Geraldine L. Gerry Ogden, age 93, of Bartonville, passed away , Jan. 28, 2016 at 7:46 p.m. at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria. She was born Sep. 4, 1922 in Kalamazoo, MI to Almon and Lela (Saye) Nelson. She married Raymond E. Ogden on 9, 1946 in Peoria. He passed away Aug. 9, 1988 in Bartonville. She was also preceded in death by two sons: Dennis and Rick, three brothers: Dick, John, and Pete, and two sisters: Maxine and Barbara. Gerry is survived by one son, Ray (Ann) Ogden of Bartonville, one daughter, Janet (Mike) Graham of Chillicothe, one daughter-in-law, Wilma Ogden of Bartonville, four grandchildren: Tracey (Ciro) Dominguez of Tampa, FL, Noel (Ricky) Rives of Naples, FL, Bryan (Jessica) Ogden of Washington, IL, and Debra Kay Ogden of Bartonville, along with nine great-grandchildren. She was also survived by one sister, Phyllis Hafer of Florida. She was a United States Navy Veteran serving in WWII, where she met her husband Raymond. Gerry worked at the Peoria State Hospital until it closed and then at Zeller Mental in Peoria. She served in several offices of AFSME and was past President of AFSCME Chapter 31 Retirees and was inducted in the Hall of Fame on Oct. 12, 2011. She was a lifetime member of Jobs Daughter Bethel 114 where she served as a Bethel Guardian. services will be , Feb. 2, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Rev. Josh Gutteridge will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. She was a longtime member of the CrossPoint Church of East Peoria, and the family requests memorials be made to CrossPoint Church. Obituary: Cynthia Marie Ogden, 64, passed away on 30, 2017 following a 7 month battle with lung cancer. She passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family and devoted husband. Cindy was born in Decatur, IL., the daughter of Cliff and Lucille Hodges and sister to Brian (Sally) Hodges and Sandy (Jay) Dexter. Mrs. Ogden is survived by her husband of 42 years, Kevin Ogden, and her children: Jeff (Samantha) Ogden, Andrea (Jared) Morris and Eric (Shannon) Ogden. She was also a grandmother to four grandsons. Cindy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to travel, play golf and be with her family and friends. Her strength and resilience was inspirational. Cindy was a teacher of love and kindness. She taught her whole family the joy of cooking and the art of a proper hug. Cindy knew no stranger and her passion for life was second to none. Cindy received her Bachelors Degree from Millikin University and a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University Medical School. She practiced Physical Therapy at St. Johns and Memorial Medical and she provided in-home and hospice care to hundreds of people. Cindy was a member of Panther Creek Country Club, Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) and a sister of the Pi Beta Phi Chapter at Millikin University. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Bisch West, 2931 Koke Mill Road, 2, 2017 beginning at 10:00am and followed by a funeral service at 12:30pm.
