Obituary: Johnnie M. Owens, 65, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on , 19, 2016. Johnnie was born 6, 1951 in Phenix City, Alabama to the late Warren and Shirley Powell Owens. He was a Fluid Power Manager for Bearings and Drives in Columbus, GA for over 30 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a competitive archer, and enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. Survivors include his wife of 43 years Marol Taylor Owens, two daughters: Sonja Owens (Bruce Tucker) of Phenix City, AL, and Cassandra (Clint) Malcom of Marietta, GA, two grandchildren: Taylor Leigh Malcom and Jackson Luke Malcom, four brothers: Tex Owens, Teddy (Sharon) Owens both of Phenix City, AL, Gary (Connie) Owens of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Rodney Owens of Columbus, GA, two sisters: Lisa Owens of Phenix City, AL and Kay (Larry) Martin of Columbus, GA, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Owens, and a sister, Debra Lynn Owens. Visitation will be from 5-7pm, on , 22, 2016 in the St. Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA. services will be 2:00 pm on , 23, 2016 in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA, with Reverend Mike Reeves and Dr. Don Wilhite officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill . Johnnie fought heart disease for over 25 years. His family would like to thank the doctors that cared for him and increased his quality of life during this long battle: Dr. Rajinder Chhokar, Dr. David B. He was born 26, 1942, in Jenkins , Georgia to the late Henry and Marjorie Rabitsch Owens. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church of Sylvania and the Nanny Goat Hunting Club in Screven . He also served in the Army National Guard and was retired from the BASF Fibers plant of Sylvania. Jimmy was preceded in death by his Parents, a Daughter, Miranda Owens, Sisters, Barbara O. Browning and Evelyn O. Heath, and a Brother, David Owens. Survivors include; His Wife: Marion Ann Dickey Owens, a Son and Daughter-in-Law; Duane B. and Chris P. Obituary: Jim Owens, age 61, of St. Simons Island, died , 19, 2014 at St. Vincents Hospital in Jacksonville. Jim was a native of St. Simons Island. He graduated from Glynn Academy in 1971 where he was the high school quarterback. graduation, he entered the US Army and served as a Medic in Germany. He later attended Barber school and began his life long career. He enjoyed socializing, spending time with his family and cooking.
