Obituary: Our son, Timothy Alan Officer Jr. went to be with lord and his brother on , 3rd 2015. Timmy as he was known to all was our first born son, born in Huntington West Virginia, 8, 1982. Timmy entered the world at about 5 lbs. and a bit premature. He would grow into the 6 1, 220 pound handsome, young, brother, friend, and warrior most have come to know. Timmy spent his early years with his family pursuing typical boyhood adventure. In Michigan he would go sledding with his brother Justin, tucked into the sled with his father. As Timmy grew he enjoyed, youth sports, excelled at baseball, and loved catching fish and all outdoor adventure. In his youth he was exposed to many different states, while traveling with his father and family, through his fathers Air Force career. He was naturally curious, stubborn, and fearless and wanted to experience life for himself. He exhibited these traits from an early age. He would often disappear, with his brother in tow, to play, run and enjoy the other side of the housing compound, not following the rules to stay within sight of the house. He did this without a care in the world; after all he knew where the house was. These early behaviors were evident and continued as Timmy served our country in the U.S. Air Force. Over the course of his fourteen year career as a member of Tactical Air Control Party, a Joint Terminal Attack Controller, or JTAC, he travelled the world and went repeatedly into harms way in Iraq and Afghanistan. His job was to put bombs on target, while deployed with is team, in support of U. S. Army ground combat operations. He earned his Bronze Star with Valor device in the ground convoy assault, driving into Iraq in 2003, not quite three years into his career. His other tours of duty no doubt had similar encounters of combat. Most JTACs and similar men and women in combat professions would downplay their roles, and not seek attention for themselves. Timmy exhibited this as well. General George Patton said It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died, rather we should thank God that such men lived-- we do both. We weep, we are in pain, and we yearn to see, touch and hold them again. We say good bye, and honor them in death as we did in life. Words cannot express the great sadness, our profound grief at Timmys death. Timmy and Justin live in our hearts and memories forever. Their friends and brothers in arms will honor them and remember them for all time to come. We miss them dearly. Timmy was preceded in death by his brother Justin Officer, K.I.A., 29 Sep 2010, Kandahar Afghanistan. Timmy is survived by his father, Timothy A. Officer, mother Stacy J. Officer, sister, Kylea Officer, grandmother, Crystal Sanderson and Aunts, Cynthia Whiteside, Deloris Kendrick, Laureen Jodrey, Andrea Lazzara, Beverly Wing, Damaris Fraley, Uncles, Tim Brown, Jeff Brown, Donald Fraley and David Fraley. Timmy was preceded in death by grandfathers, Timothy Officer, Gary Brown, Art Sanderson, Donald Fraley and grandmothers, Helen Officer and Donna Fraley. Donations may be made in Timmys name to s for Our Troops or the Fisher House Foundation. The funeral will be held , 12, 2015 at 2:00PM at The Springs Services, 3115 E. Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. Timmy will be interred at the Arlington National , Arlington Virginia.
