Obituary: Joyce Ivie Odom passed away 10,2010, at Heritage after a long battle with Parkinsons disease. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. EDT, , 15, 2010,followed by a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. at Culleys Meadow Wood -1737 Riggins Road Chapel (850-877-8191). Inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to the Parkinsons Foundation, 710 West 168th Street, New York, NY 10032. Joyce was born on May 13, 1934 in Tampa, Florida. She attended schools in Tampa and graduated from Hillsborough High School. During her teenage years in Tampa, she played guitar, sang and yodeled in several country western bands and sang at her local church. Joyce settled in Tallahassee in 1970. raising two children she later completed her education at Tallahassee Community and Florida State University earning a Bachelors degree in 1972 and a Masters degree in 1975. Joyce was employed by the State of Florida Department of Labor and Employment Security in their office of Disability Determination for 21 years, retiring in 1996. She received many service awards including the Atlanta Regional Social Security Special Act of Service Award in 1993. Along with her husband Harold, Joyce was an active member of Springtime Tallahassee 20th Century Krewe, the Andrew Jackson Staff and St. Marks Yacht Club. In her leisure time, Joyce enjoyed working in her flower garden. Her survivors include her husband of 31 years, Harold Odom; daughter Blue Smith and husband Tommy of Kaneohe, HI; son Greg Golden and wife Gabrielle of Tallahassee; and stepdaughter Janet Gallagher and husband Jim, Bradenton, FL; grandsons Matthew and wife Laura of Jacksonville, FL and Geoffrey Howard and wife Leslie of Centreville, VA; granddaughter Stephanie McAllister and husband Colin of Salisbury, MD; and Bridgette Maryman and husband Brice of Seattle, W A; and 6 great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Brown and husband Bob, and brother Douglas Ivie and wife Rosemary of McAlpin, FL. Obituary: Odom, James, of Tampa, formerly of Allendale, SC; a courageous battle with lung cancer, James passed away on , 24, 2015, at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Maggie (McMillian) Odom; siblings, Lucille, Elizabeth and Sophie; wives, Annie Edwards (1945) and Antoinette Smith Odom (1971); sons, Charles Preston and Jimmy Odom, Jr. Survived by his brothers, Henry Finney C. Odom and Rod Odom; children, Pearline Avery, Tommy Odom, Jeanette Odom, Lorraine Turner, Barbara Morgan, Charlene Byrd and Kathleen Odom; 24 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. James was a charismatic man who embraced a strong work ethic. Despite his life-ling commitment to hard work, he remained involved in his community. He was a 40+ year member of the Free Masons Erwin Lodge #31 of Syracuse, NY, a 25+ year member of the Avon NY Lions Club and a 15+ year member of the Van Zandt Volunteer Fire Department in Avon, NY. James loved watching baseball and westerns, enjoyed fishing and participated on several champion bowling leagues. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at LifePath Hospice for their constant support and exceptional care. Friends and family are invited to gather from 6-8pm on , 29, at G.L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary, 390 Beaufort Street NE, Aiken, SC.
