Obituary: Robert James Niezelski, 79, of Clinton, died on 5, 2011, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was born on May 4, 1932, in Ansonia, CT, the son of Joseph James Niezelski and Hilma Marie Bergquist Niezelski. Mr. Niezelski was a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Navy aboard the USS Cambria. He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut in 1958 with a BS in Business. He worked for Chatfield Paper as a salesman for over 25 years until his retirement with Butler Paper in 1994. He was a parishioner of St. Marys church in Clinton. He was active in many organizations including the Westbrook Elks Club, The VFW, Shoreline Sailing Club, Madison Bocce League, and Clinton Historical Society. Bob will be well remembered for his love of fishing, cooking, gardening, funny stories and spending quality time with his family and friends. He is survived by his daughters Sharon Kellar and her husband Kenneth of Woodsboro, MD; Kathleen Clark and her husband Richard of Simpsonville, SC; and Laura McLaughlin and her husband Shawn of Niantic, CT; his brother Mr. Thomas Niezelski and his wife Wanda; his sister Mrs. Charlotte Koslowski and her husband Louis and his sister-in-law Mrs. Lucy Niezelski, all of Seymour; his grandchildren Lindsay, Daniel and Jenna Kellar, Nicholas Tannous, Matthew Lawson, Hannah and Ryan McLaughlin; nieces and nephews and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Joseph Niezelski, Alice Conroy and Lillian Swanat. The funeral procession will assemble on at 9am at Swan , 80 E. Main St., Clinton and will proceed to a 10am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Marys Church of The Visitation, 54 Grove St., Clinton. Burial with military honors will be held on at 11am in St. ine , Cedar St., Seymour. His family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to7 p.m on at Swans in Clinton.
