Obituary: WINSTED – NAVIN – John Navin, Jr., 81, passed away peacefully on , 15, 2014. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Calkins) Navin for 59 years. Born on 21, 1933 in Winsted; the son of the late John and Grace (Johnson) Navin. John retired from Pratt & Whitney as a Machinist. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed fishing. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army. retirement, he gladly was devoted to driving his grandchildren to all their events. He is survived by a son, John Navin and wife Kris of Torrington; two daughters, Nancy Hafford and husband James of Winsted and Sandra Davis and husband Todd of Barkhamsted; grandchildren, Abby, Casey, Suzie, Sarah and husband Vincent, Kristen and Molly; and great grandchildren, Lucas and Griffin. In addition to his wife who passed away in 2011, he was predeceased by three siblings, Kathleen Jackman, Mary Hudach and Joseph Navin. Obituary: Prospect - Mrs. Josephine (LaBrutte) Navikauskas, age 92, of Prospect, died 27, 2015 at the Beacon Brook in Naugatuck. She was the widow of Frederick J. Navikauskas. Mrs. Navikauskas was born in Pittston, PA. on 20, 1922 a daughter of the late Matteo and Carmella (Mule) LaBrutte. She made her home with her daughter Joann LaBrutte and grandson Matt Coviello for twenty six years. She retired from Specialty Packaging where she had worked as an assembler for many years. She enjoyed baking , knitting and crocheting. Josephine liked going to the casino and traveling with her family. Mrs. Navikauskas is survived by her children; Lisa Conti and her husband Mark of Waterbury, Joann LaBrutte of Prospect, Cynthia Riccuiti and her husband Richard of New York, George Navikauskas of Waterbury and Teresa Fortier and her husband David of Waterbury, her sister: Margaret Mecadon and her husband Tom of North Carolina, six grandchildren: Todd Kelly, Erika Taylor and her husband Greg, Crystal Riccuiti, Matthew Coviello, Nick Riccuiti and Joseph Conti and his wife Jennifer and her great grandchild Tyus Kelly. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and was especially fond of nieces; Jessica DeBiase, Carmella Marine and Rosalie Veneziano. Mrs. Navikauskas family would like to thank the staff of Beacon Brook and Masonicare for the wonderful care that they provided. A funeral mass will be held on 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Road, Waterbury. Obituary: Florence Alice (Sawyer) Naves, died 29, 2015, with her family by her side after a long battle with Alzheimers Disease. Florence was the wife of Gerald J. Naves, Jr., who survives her. She was born in Key West, Florida on 18, 1927, the daughter of the late Leland and Mary Sawyer. She graduated from the Convent of Mary Immaculate in Key West and started work in banking at The First National Bank of Key West. She met her future husband when he served with the Navy in Key West. Florence and Gerald were married at St. Josephs Church in Danbury on 20, 1953. Florence never completely left Key West, returning there with her husband and children for vacations and visits with Florences family, who remained there. In Danbury, Florence continued in banking with Danbury National Bank, later the former Union Trust , retiring as an Assistant Branch Manager, and made many lasting friendships among co-workers and customers. She was hostess for and holiday dinners for four generations of her family. In addition to her husband of 62 years, Florence is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lee Olivo (Steven) and Elizabeth A. Katzing (William), all of Danbury; her grandsons, Nicholas M. Olivo, Emiliano E. Katzing, and Esteban E. Katzing, all of Danbury; her sisters, Mary Louise Russell of Umatilla, Florida and Joan Adkins of Lake City, Florida; her sister-in-law, Zee Sawyer of Tallahassee, Florida; her brothers-in-law and their wives, Ronald E. Naves (Sue) of Carmel, New York, and Paul F. Naves (Betty) of Danbury; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Ernest Sawyer, and her sister, Lillian Berube. Obituary: Pamela (Arnold) Navarro, 67, of Vernon, was called to be with her Heavenly Father on , 22, 2015 at Manchester Memorial Hospital with her cousin Gail at her side. She is now resting in the arms of Angels. Pam was born in a, Maine on 7, 1947, the daughter of the late Norman and Genevieve Arnold. To know Pam was to love Pam. She attended Hartford for Women and was an advocate for higher education. She retired from Highpoint Heating and Cooling in South Windsor as office manager, bookkeeper and sometimes counselor and hovering mother to the staff. Pam was brave and courageous as she battled breast cancer for many years and she never complained. A woman of tiny stature, she had a great big heart. She focused on others, and was grateful for every day she had. Pam was a huge Mets fan and lover of all animals. She was for equal rights for all and was very vocal on social media about the injustices seen daily in the news. We are all very blessed to have known her. We may not remember all she did or said, however, we will always remember the way she made us feel. She leaves behind her cousins, Gail Arnold and Arlene Gagnon and their families of Maine; her dear friends, Ann Majewski, Dawn Dallas, Kai Peak-Clark, Evelyn Bixby, Paul Hogan, and her bosses, John and Larry. Obituary: Juan L. Navarro, 57, of Westbrook, CT lost his battle with leukemia and passed away on 22, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Lucy Navarro, loving father of Jessica Bielawski and her fiancée, William Harris III of Westbrook, Monica Nunes and her husband, Edgar of Middletown and Christine Huskes and her husband, Mathias of Meriden. He leaves brother of Juan Pablo Navarro & Juan Manuel Navarro and their families of Puerto Rico. Juan was also survived by his three cherished grandchildren Madison, Owen and Patrick, He leaves his mother in law, Stefania Marcisz in New Britain, his brother in law, Marek Koza and his wife, Margaret of Meriden and his German Shepherd Roxie. Juan was born in Bronx New York on 31 1956, son of the late Juan Manuel Navarro and Nilda LaPalme. As a young man, He proudly served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Detective for the Meriden Police Department for 25 years. Juan also worked as Agent Supervisor for the Department of Motor Vehicle and was a Security Officer for the Masonicare in Wallingford. Juan was a parishioner of St. Mark Parish in Westbrook. He was a proud Master Mason of Meridian Lodge #77, A.F. & A.M. and Past Right Worshipful District Deputy of the Grand Lodge, A.F. & A.M. He was a member of the Elks for 26 years, the Shriners, the American legion and he was a past president of the Blue Knights, chapter 1 in Connecticut. Juan was a man who lived life to the fullest, his mission in life was helping anyone who needed a helping hand. He volunteered anywhere he was needed and never turned down a request for help. He loved his job, his friends and the community, but his greatest joy was being with his family.
