Obituary: It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald Dean Noblin, M.D. announces that he passed peacefully to Paradise on , 26, 2015, following a massive Cerebral Vascular Accident. Ron was born in Oklahoma on 6, 1940, to Robert Lavern and Ezerrene Noblin. He was raised in the farmlands of the San Joaquin Valley. He attended Stanford University on a full academic scholarship, and UCLA Medical School. It was in his second year of medical school that Ron met Kathleen, a UCLA nursing student; they were married on 16, 1967. He did his medical internship with the United States Public Service in Charleston, South Carolina, where he served as Medical Officer in Charge. At the Public Service Hospital he served the needs of the Coast Guard, Merchant Seamen and the National Institute of where pioneering research was being conducted on Leukemia. Following his three year military service, Ron was accepted into UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute for a three year ophthalmology residency. Following the completion of his residency Ron and Kathleen and infant son, Joshua, relocated to the city of Ventura. He entered into private practice with James McKenzie, M.D. and Gregory Sugimura, M.D. (deceased). Dr. Noblin and Dr. Sugimura later opened their own practice on Loma Vista Road where they worked together until the untimely death of Dr. Sugimura. Ron continued his solo practice until his retirement in 2005. While working a busy practice he found time to attend as Clinical Professor at UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute, passing on his knowledge and skill to young doctors while attending in the UCLA Clinics. Dr. Noblin was on staff at Community Memorial Hospital and Ventura Hospital. Dr. Noblin was a fine surgeon who brought new techniques to the practice of phaco emulsification and intraocular lens implantation to Ventura. He was respected for his quiet manners, patience, intellect, and exacting surgical skills. Dr. Noblin was a major benefactor of the Ventura Ballet and served as Chairman of the Board for many years. He spearheaded the founding of the Ballet Academy Ventura as the official school of the Ventura Ballet in 1992. Over the last 23 years the company has become a major cultural force in Ventura . He was deeply proud of their work. Dr. Noblin is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Kathleen; his loving mother, Ezerrene Noblin; son, Joshua T. Noblin and wife Roxana; son, Justin T. Noblin and wife Tierney; daughter, Rachel Mei Ae; and son, James R. Noblin and wife Rebecca. Papa passing will leave a big void for grandchildren, Inaaya, Jack, Tucker, Aurora; and grandniece, Olivia. Grand Dad will be missed by Devin and Logan Noblin. He will be greatly missed by James M OMara, III and wife Kaye; niece Katyanne; and nephew LCDR. James M. OMara IV; and dear friends Daniel Murphy, M.D. and wife Kathy, Cynthia and Noel Sugimura and John and Barbara Tyler.
