Obituary: Ronald (Ron) Bunji Ninomiya, a resident of Los Altos, passed away on 20, 2014, surrounded by his family after suffering complications from a massive heart attack. Ron was born to Hiroshi and Satsuko Ninomiya on 6, 1960, in Fresno, California. When Ron was twelve years old, his family moved to Morgan Hill where Ron graduated from Live Oak High School. He attended San Jose State University where he received a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, then went on to UC Berkeley for his masters degree. Ron worked as an engineer for GE Nuclear Energy for 17 years and as an Installation Manager at KLA-Tencor for another seven years. Ron and his wife, Karen, moved to Los Altos in 2002, shortly after the birth of their son, Max. Rons greatest joy in life was his son, Max. It was very common to find Ron and Max out at Purissima field practicing batting after school or on weekends when there were no games scheduled. Ron gave Max the love of baseball from a very young age through coaching of Maxs T-Ball and minor league teams. Later, he was at all of Maxs games lending a hand on the field before, during and after games. Ron was also very passionate about, and involved in, Maxs Boy Scout troop, recruiting and helping new members as well as volunteering in many ways. Shortly before Rons death, Max got to witness his dad receiving Best Parent award at the troops Court of Honor ceremony. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Hiroshi and Satsuko Ninomiya. He is survived by Karen, his son Max, his sister Lori Ann Ninomiya (Greg), his niece, Shawn, his nephews Brandon and Ryan and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on , 31, 2015 at 2:00 pm at San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin, 640 North 5th Street, San Jose, CA. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Boy Scout Troop 37 (in memory of Ron Ninomiya) c/o Ty Conner, Troop 37 Treasurer, 26050 Quail Lane, Los Altos, CA 94022. |
