Obituary: Michael Joe Nares went home to God on May 12, 2015 with his family and his friends by his side. The son of Monty and Natalie Nares, he was born in Oceanside, CA on 13, 1959 where he lived all his life. He is the second youngest of five siblings. He worked for Thrifty/Rite Aid for over 30 years as a Pharmaceutical Technician, but his passion was dedicating his time to the Catholic Church and teaching the Word of God. He did this in many different ways--by sponsoring people through the Sacrament of Confirmation, teaching religion at the Army Navy Academy in Carlsbad, CA for many years, he was in the choir and he was always regular church goer at Saint Patricks Church. Because of his work in the community, Michael was well-known and loved in his hometown. He also proudly owned a house in Purepero, Mexico, where he loved throwing parties for his friends. He enjoyed traveling throughout the US and visiting other countries, antiquing, gardening, cooking, Judge Judy, collecting crystal, cookbooks and other items. He loved all types of music. You could often find him catching up with friends down at his local hangout, the Red Rooster. But his favorite thing to do was to spend quality time with his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Oceanside, Mexico and Orange . He was preceded in death by his father, Monty Nares; and is survived by his mother, Natalie Nares; and his siblings, Irene (Joe), Tony (Shannon), Jimmy (Diana) and Monica (Art); and his nieces and nephews: Timothy, Kimberly (Ryan), Ben, Julie(Chuck), Laura, Matty, Alec; and grandniece, Catherine Grace. His family knows Michael touched many lives, so if you would like to celebrate his life, the vigil service will be held on , May 20th at 7:00pm at St. Mary, Star of the Sea in Oceanside, California. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on , May 21st at 10:00am at St. Patrick Catholic Community Church in Carlsbad, California, immediately followed by the burial service at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, California. Michael was loved by all and he will be greatly missed. |
