Obituary: My name is Floyzell Warfield Nickleberry, I was born 8, 1938, in Waelder, Gonzales, , Texas. I was the 17th child born in the union of James Edward Warfield and Dora Aggie Satterwhite. I was reared up in the Christian faith. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, at 8 years of age, at St Paul Missionary Baptist Church one morning when the Spirit of the Lord moved upon me. I attended Ralph Bunche School from the first grade through the twelfth, where I completed my formal education in 1956 in Waelder, Texas. finishing school, I moved to Dallas Texas. I met the love of my life, James Otis Nickleberry. I married him on 17, 1956. In our union, we were blessed with four children: two boys and two girls. I worked at Baylor Medical in the kitchen as a Dietary Aide. I received training in management, excelling in my position. Later, I was promoted to Dietary Supervisor in the Truitt Building on the 3rd floor. I retired after working at Baylor for 36 years. I also worked at Children’s Medical in the Dallas, Texas, area as a Dietary Aide and retired from there after working 7 years. When I first moved to Dallas in 1956, I joined Rose Chapel Baptist Church. In 1983, I became a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, where I held membership for 29 years. I moved my membership to East Gate Baptist Church in 2012, which was closer to my residence in the Oak Cliff area. I was a member of the Senior Ministry and also the Women #3 School class. I really loved serving the Lord, and in my personal study time I loved getting to know Jesus Christ through His Word. I became a caregiver to many disabled family members. God’s Word was my foundation. He said, “greater love has no man than this, than to lay down your life for a brother.” Reading, writing, playing dominos, working puzzles, and dancing were some of my past time hobbies, but my favorite was spending time with my family. I enjoyed Christmas time, because when our families joined together to embrace each other, we gave comfort and strength to one another. We were a close-knit family and meeting new members that married into the family, or born into the family, was a joy for me as well. I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith, I have fought the good fight, and I have run the race. On 13, 2016, the day of the Lord, He called me home to be with Him. I will be missed by all who knew and loved me and by those whose lives were touched in some way by me. I am preceded in death by my husband, James Nickleberry; my father, James E. Warfield; my mother, Dora Warfield; nine sisters and seven brothers: Odessa Warfield, Irona Gentry, Rosella Harris, Ola V. Brown, Louvenia Hatley, Sara Jane Warfield, Veatrice Grant, Gussie Rodgers, Dora Brown, Addison Warfield, New James Warfield, Jeremiah Warfield, Edward Warfield, Sam Warfield and Belven Warfield; son-in-law, Danyl G. Rankin; daughter-in-law, Dauphine Conner Nickleberry; and one grandson, Thomas Conner. Leaving to cherish my legacy and memories are my brother, Marion Warfield (Verna); my sister, Junioree Warfield Price; my children: Richard Melvin Nickleberry, Donna Annette Richardson (Kelvin), Alton James Nickleberry, and Marilyn Marie Molden (Kevin); my grandchildren: Christopher Minor, Shukura Wilson Coleman (Jamal), Glenetta Smith, Lafredia Conner Johnson (Joe), Alicia Nickleberry, Jeromey Bryant, Tometheus Bryant (Amber), Adrian Bryant, Shadonna Bryant, Carolyn Nickleberry, Alton Horn, Latoya Rankin Dial (Tedrick), Kimbely Rankin; my great-grandchildren: Crystal Dickerson Miner, DeQuinsha Choice Miner, Christopher Miner, Jr., Monica Dial, Diamond Dial, Ladarius Dial, Kaylia Dial, Marcus Dial, Brian Davis, Kennedi Rankin, Ken’che Beckworth, Ladaijia Conner, Kanesha Smith, LeJessica Roberson, Justice Wheeler, Tometheus Bryant, Jr., Wisdom Bryant, Jerzie Bryant, Jeremiah Hollman, Kalin Bryant, Cameron Bryant, Matthew Bryant, Maddison Bryant, Kason Rankin; my great-great-grandchildren: Tydauris Smith, John Davis, Jr., Jadaveon Johnson, Saxon DeQuinsha, Jr.; and a host of other family members and friends. |
