Obituary: Wilma Newton, born 16, 1907, to Katherine and Frank Kienzle in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Regent , Kingwood, on 17, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Arthur Newton; her older sister, Frances Bauer; and younger sister, Kay Ayers. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Garvin of Moreno Valley, California and Nancy Thompson and son-in-law, Ray Thompson. She very much enjoyed her six grandchildren: Betty Ferri of Camino, California, Ron Garvin and Lauree Levitsky of Moreno Valley, California, Randy Thompson of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, Gary Thompson of Georgetown, Texas and David Thompson of Waxahachie, Texas. All were gathered in Kingwood for her 100th birthday in 2007 along with her six great grandchildren, Josh and Jamie Ferri, R.J. Garvin, Shelby Garvin Martin, Michael and A.J. Levitsky, Andrew, Jenelle, Danny and Scott Thompson, and four great great grandchildren from California. Wilma enjoyed seven years at the Terrace in Kingwood before moving to Regent . She loved being an active member of Kingwood Christian Church, was an avid bridge player, enjoyed reading, dominoes and other games. Before coming to Kingwood she was a resident of Ardmore, Oklahoma, for more than 50 years. While there she was active in First Christian Church of Ardmore, YWCA, Girl Scouts and other organizations. A celebration of her life will be scheduled in early . Obituary: Mrs. Willie Lee Newton, daughter or Edgar Moore and Ruthie Moore, was born on 10, 1949 in Selma, Alabama. Willie received her education in the Selma school system. Soon after school she and her family moved to Los Angeles, California. She had a daughter Kimberly Moore soon after she joined the United States Army reporting to stead AFB, Florida in service of her country. She met and married Amos N. Newton and traveled different parts of the world as an Army wife. She was also employed as a DOD employee yielding 17yrs of faithful service. From the union came two children son Amos Newton II and daughter Shanae Newton. Willie settled at Ft. Hood in Killeen, Texas in 1989. She retired from work in 1996 after being diagnosed with Lupus. Willie struggled with the disease for more than 14 yrs. a long hard fight with the disease, it finally claimed her life on Dec 3, 2010. She leaves behind a devoted and loving husband Amos Newton, daughter Kimberly Moore, son Amos Newton II, and daughter Shanae Newton, mother Ruthie Moore, brothers Edgar Moore, Arthur Moore, and Steve Moore, sisters, Annie Ruth Jones, Maggie White, and Cathy McDonald four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. |

Obituary: Wanda Newton went home to be with her Lord and Savior on , 3, 2017 with family members at her side. She was born in Kingsland Arkansas on 29, 1937 to the late Wallace Edward and Mary Jewell Graves Mitchell. Wanda worked and owned her own business Electrolysis of Victoria for 23 years. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, organizing the Air Force 497th Squadron Annual Reunion and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Wanda is survived by her husband of 54 years, Marion Emmitt Newton of Victoria, TX; sons Robert Newton (Geri) of Lewisville, TX, Ronald Newton (Angie) of London, AR and Derek Newton (Deana) of Cypress, TX; sisters Doris Lisemby of Florida, Helen Goggans of Fordyce, AR, Laverne Rotten of Boyd, TX; brothers James Mitchell (Bonnie) of West Columbia, TX; grandchildren Kristy Freyaldenhoven (Gabe), Ryan Newton (Joanna), Melissa Cutler (Ryan) all of Russellville, AR, Alex Gonzales (Tabitha) of McKinney, TX, Heather Gonzales of Plano, TX, Dustin Newton (Samantha) of San Antonio, TX, Ty and Mackenzie Newton of Cypress, TX; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters Gwen Douglass, Kathleen Fergason and Polly Mitchell and brothers Roy Mitchell and Arnold Mitchell. Obituary: Wanda Joyce Newton, 60, passed away , 31, 2012, at her residence in Abilene. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. , 5, 2012, in Rose Hill , Merkel, Texas, with Mr. Mike Bailey officiating, directed by Community Memorial , 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Wanda was born 30, 1951 to William Leonard Gibson and Anita Joyce Naramore Gibson in Bossier City, Louisiana. She traveled around with her Air Force family, moving from Holland in 1967 to Abilene. Wanda graduated from Cooper High School in 1969. She married Galen Newton on 3, 1969. He preceded her in death on 26, 2003 after 32 years of marriage. Wanda worked for Abilene Independent School District (AISD) for 11 years in food service and recently at WalMart as a sales associate for 7 years. She enjoyed crafts and cooking. Wanda loved her entire family, as this was her life. Wanda was preceded in death by her father; her husband; two daughters, Gay Lynn Newton and Baby Girl Newton; and other extended family members. Survivors include her children, Stacy Ann Rees and husband, Rodney, of Bailey, Colorado, Amy Elizabeth Lay and husband, Mike, of Abilene, Galen Dale Newton II of Abilene, and Lindsey Nicole Ezell and husband, Jeremy, of Abilene; her siblings, Sheryl Lynn Dixon of Garland, Texas, Bill Gibson and wife, Martha, of Abilene, Robert Allen Bottger and wife, Carolyn, of Colleyville, Texas, and Amy Dawn Hougtaling and husband, Thomas, of Richmond, Virginia; ten grandchildren, Jodi Rees, Brittnee Morgan and husband, Trent, Jonathan Jones and wife Bea, Mekael Rees and fiancé Jason, Thomas Rees, Dillion Jones, Kara Lay, Ryan Rees, Nathaniel Newton, and Makenzie Newton; three great-grandchildren, Marion Jones, Mattox Talamantez, and Kaytie Rogers, plus three upcoming new arrivals.
