Obituary: Willetta Ruth Nations Willetta Ruth Nations, nee Coughlin, 85, formerly of East St. Louis, IL, and Crystal Beach TX, died , 31, 2015 at Jefferson House , Beaumont, TX. Mrs. Nations was born in St. Louis, MO, and lived in East St. Louis, IL and Highland, IN before moving to Texas. She was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes in Vidor, and later, St. Therese of Lisieux in Crystal Beach. Mrs. Nations was also an accomplished water color artist who delighted in providing her children and grandchildren with her paintings and in sending her hand painted cards to family and friends for Christmas. Willetta was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, James L. Nations, whom she married on 25, 1950, a son, Michael Nations, and her parents, Grace and Cornelius Coughlin. Surviving Mrs. Nations are her daughter, Theresa (Richard) Brown of Freeland, MI, and sons, James (Fran) Nations of Port Neches, TX, and Dennis (Shellie) Nations of Winnie, TX, eight grandchildren - Christopher (Carrie) Brown of Rochester Hills, MI, Andrew (Jennifer) Brown of Freeland, MI, Nondi (Eric) Murnane of Orlando, FL, Carla (Jacob) Grimes of Port Neches, TX, Misti (Bill) Robinson of Kingwood, TX, Randi (Brian) Pinder of Winnie, Tx, Amber (Cody) Roberts of Bridge City, TX and Jamie (Jose) Gonzalez of Winnie, TX. Mrs. Nations also had 12 great-grandchildren - Evan, Ryan and Colin Brown, Harper Grimes, Luke, Emily & Abigail Robinson, Kinley Pinder, Steelye and Baelyn Roberts, and Maxxen Lee Smith and Leo James Gonzalez. She also has a brother, Cornelius (Wilma) Coughlin of St. Louis, MO, and a sister, Mary Coughlin, of Tampa, FL, and a brother-in-law, Robert (Rosie) Nations of Fairview Heights, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held , 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with Reverend Monsignor Kenneth Greig officiating. Obituary: Eddie Nations, 74, of Paris, passed away , 26, 2016, at Dubuis Hospital following a lengthy battle with cancer. Bright-Holland has scheduled graveside services for 11:30 a.m. , Nov. 29th, at McDonald with Rev. Eric Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery thirty minutes prior to the service and will be at the Nations home on Road 22900 at other times. Eddie, the son of Horace & Bertha Westbrook Nations, was born Nov. 23, 1942, in Clarksville. He graduated from Clarksville High School. His career as a transport driver for Sara Lee spanned twenty-three years before his retirement in 2004. Eddie was also a cattle rancher and an avid hunter. His parents and a brother, Larry W. Nations, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Janice Hervey Nations, whom he married on Nov. 16, 1991, children; Marci Thompson & husband Doug of Paris, Chad Nations, and Rickey Cockrum & wife Donna of Powderly, grandchildren; Melissa Dean & husband Colby of Paris, Justin Mayer & wife Paige of Baytown, Derek Cockrum & wife Jennifer of Amarillo and Christopher Cockrum & wife Matti Jo of Amarillo, nine great grandchildren; Leighton Dean, Jaycee Mayer, Ryleigh Mayer, Reece Mayer, Keaton Cockrum, Kason Cockrum, Railee Cockrum, Pistol Cockrum and Barett Cockrum, a nephew, Sam Nations & wife Deb and Orion & Melissa, several aunts, uncles, & cousins and a host of friends. Obituary: James W. Nations, usually known as Dad, Daddy, Granddaddy, Jim, JW and Jimmy left our world peacefully early morning, 13, 2010. Jim was born to Jetton and Callie Nations 11, 1918 in Burkett, Texas. He grew up on the family ranch in Fort Stockton and went to Buffalo Gap school. He went to college at Alpine Teachers (Sul Ross University) and earned his pilots license while there. He served in WWII from 44 to 46 with the 1307th Engineer Construction Battalion where he earned several campaign ribbons including the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with bronze star, Asiatic-Pacific with two bronze stars and the Victory Ribbon. He was awarded his Sharpshooter Rifle, two overseas service bars and the Army Good Conduct Medal. Jim married his sister-in-law Hazels younger sister Bertha E. (Betty) Ragle on New Years Day, 1943. Dad worked hard his whole life. He spent what time he wasn working with family. He and Mom worked hard to raise a family of five in trying times. Mom and Dad moved to Austin in 1951 from the dairy farm in Comanche, TX. Dad was a licensed Broker from the early 1950s to 2005; over 50 years. His love was first selling ranches and then buying and ranching them until he resold them. Dad loved to hunt and also liked fishing. His greatest joy was seeing one of the grand kids get a first buck or catch a fish. He enjoyed sitting in the deer stand with them and being at the camp house. He loved being close to the water; first on Lake Travis, then at Kingsland on Lake LBJ when he semi-retired. He and Mom moved to Georgetown in 2006 to be closer to family. Jim was preceded in death by his mother Callie, his father Jetton, his sister and brothers Pat, Marvin, Jackson, Jack, Horace, Roy and Eddie and one grandson. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Bertha Elizabeth (Betty) Nations. Son James and his two daughters, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Daughter Yvonne and husband Tony and their three sons, three daughters and five grandchildren. Son Billy and his wife Lynn and their four sons, one daughter and ten grandchildren. Son Ronny and wife Sharon and their son, two daughters and two grandchildren. Son Randy and his wife Cindy and his two sons. The family will receive friends on , 17th from 6PM to 8PM at the Ramsey .
