Obituary: Ethel Marie Noble 91, of Mobile Alabama died 12, 2014. Mrs. Noble was born in Mobile Alabama 11, 1923 and had been a lifelong resident of Mobile. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Surviving her are her husband John L. Noble, her son Milfred E. Howard, Grandchildren James Christopher Howard, Jon David Howard and Amy Marie Howard. She also had 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by a grandchild Noel Chadwick Howard, two brothers Orel Christopher, Edgar Christopher and her parents Samuel Edgar Christopher and Mildred Gaddis (Simmons) Christopher. Obituary: David J. Noble passed away peacefully on , 16, 2017 at his home in Alabama surrounded by his beloved family. He was 85 years old. Mr. Noble was a self-made man with a passion for his employees and the many people surrounding him in both the business world and personally. He valued and was committed to the policyholders and the advisors that called on them. David Noble never did anything in life that was easy. He had an unrelenting desire to succeed, win and relationships mattered. Mr. Noble was known for his tenacious passion to do the right thing. He deeply loved his family, his American Equity work family, and his country and the men and women who served our great nation. He was born 14, 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa. From a young age, Mr. Noble believed in the value of hard work and that good things would come by surrounding himself with the best people. Over the course of his more than 60 year insurance career, Mr. Noble rose to the top of the industry twice. Initially he established himself as the chief executive officer of The Statesman Group, where he led their expansion into a full-service financial services company with 21 operating subsidiaries. Eventually, he negotiated the sale of that company and oversaw the leadership transition. retiring for three days, he founded American Equity in 1995. The company's core philosophies centered on quality customer service and product integrity. He served simultaneously as chairman, chief executive officer, president and treasurer for American Equity until 1, 2009. ward, he remained chairman of the board until his death. During that time, American Equity became a top-tier provider of fixed and fixed index annuity products, employing more than 500 professionals with over half-a-million contract owners across the country. Throughout his prodigious tenure he earned a number of industry honors, including the Ernst & Young Financial Services Entrepreneur of the Year in 1999 for the Iowa and Nebraska regions, and he was inducted into the Iowa Insurance Hall of Fame in 2004. His life at American Equity allowed him to follow his passion for helping fellow Americans secure their financial future. His dedication allowed many individuals-from his American Equity staff to their valued, independent insurance producers and respected clients-the opportunity to attain their American dream. Mr. Noble is survived by his children who live in Alabama: Cindy Noble; Jeffery (Rhonda) Noble; and Joni Noble; grandchildren Cody Sapp; Christopher Anderson; Kaitlyn Noble; Elizabeth Anderson; and Jonathan Noble; great grandchildren Caleb Sapp and Isabella Anderson; and former wife of 44 years Barbara Noble. He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy Hutton Noble and William Noble, and by Thomas Quinn, who raised him. He will be remembered for his passion for life and business and the difference he made in the lives of all the people who knew him. He was an alumnus of Valley High School and Drake University. A memorial service will be held on May 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Simon Peter Episcopal Church at 3702 Mays Bend Rd. in Pell City, AL followed by a lunch at his daughter Cindys home. A celebration of Mr. Nobles life will begin at 5:30 p.m. on , May 31 at the Iowa Events in Des Moines, IA. Obituary: services will be at 3:30 p.m. , 22, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Thomas M. Noah, 78 of Rainbow City, who passed away , 19, 2015. Chaplin Michael Yopp will officiate. Burial will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler and Cremation Services is directing. Tom graduated from Southside High School in 1957 where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He was a member of the All- Football and Basketball teams and placed first in the High Jump for the state of Alabama. He was inducted into the Southside High School Hall of Fame in of 2014 for his contribution to the school. high school, he played football at Southern Union Junior and later with the Gadsden Raiders. Over the years he has coached many boys in pee-wee and junior high football at John Jones and Southside and also coached the boys track team at Southside High School. He had many hobbies over the years including coaching, gardening, softball, and especially photography. He was an avid Alabama fan, but would pull for Auburn when they were not playing Alabama. He was actively involved with Del-Ed Speedway for several years, and was a member of Whorton Bend Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, and all other loved ones left behind. Mr. Noah was preceded in death by his parents Bert and Bessie Noah; sister, Pernie (Charlie) Dunn; brother, Bob Noah; and brother-in-law, Robert Franks. He is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Gloria Noah; daughters, Tammy (Bruce) Williams, Tracy (Sam) Harper, and Lisa (Royce) Jones; grandchildren, Anna and Alex Williams, Kelsie Harper, and Cierra Jones; sister, Mildred Franks; brother, Bill (Mary) Noah; sister-in-law, Martha Noah; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Doyle Matthews, Sam Harper, Bruce Williams, Alex Williams, Robbie Dunn, and Gary Whorton. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Life Church of Rainbow City for their local Ministry outreach programs. Special thanks to Alacare Hospice, especially his nurse Kelley Usry, who was a special blessing to us. The family will accept friends from 1:30-3:30 p.m. prior to the service. |
