Obituary: NATION, Mrs. Julia Irene Knotts, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, died , 27, 2015. She was born in Greenville, Alabama, but has been a resident of Montgomery since 1941. working for many years for the of Dimes, she worked for the State of Alabama Department of Public and retired in 1983. She was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents, Ira and Nancy Knotts, her husband, Robert Paul Nation, and her son, Robert Paul Nation, Jr. Survivors include one son, James A. Nation and wife, Lisa; daughter-in-law, Angela Nation; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Obituary: Billie Ruth Nation age 83 passed 14, 2017 surrounded by family at UAB West. She was born 25 1933 in Birmingham Alabama. She graduated from Tarrant High School in 1952 and worked for Bell South and the State Employment office as a switchboard operator. Billie was a devoted wife and mother and had a great love for old movies, reading and travel. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Billie is preceded in death by her husband, of 56 years, Billy Ray Nation and her parents Houston Thomas Lewis and Eunice Self Lewis. Survivors include her three daughters Joy (Terry) Boley, Nancy (Steve) Woods and Amy (Trent) Howell; brother Charles Lewis, sisters Norma Barnes and Pat Mathews; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews, friends and extended family. The family would like to express our thanks to Hospice Services of Alabama and to our extended family, Adrena Austin, Felicia Green, Marquita Green, and Carolyn Moorer who have given their care and love to Billie. We love and appreciate you all. services will be held at Ridouts Gardendale Chapel on , 17, 2017 at 11:00am with a visitation to begin at 10:00am. Obituary: Anthony P. Nassetta, 92, of Cullman, AL passed away on , 4th, after a short illness. Services will be held on , 7th, at 10 am, with Moss-Service in charge of arrangements. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Cullman, with interment to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic . Anthony was born May 12, 1922 in the Bronx, New York. He was the son of Rose and Conrad Nassetta. Anthony met Lillian Nurmi while they were employed during the wartime effort by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Hartford, Connecticut. were married in of 1945 in New London, CT, where they lived and raised their family. moved to Cullman, AL after retiring from Nassetta Brothers Inc., a family owned architectural woodworking business, where Anthony served as President and General Manager for many years. Lillian passed away in Cullman in 2010. Survivors include his daughter Pamela Nassetta Patrick of Dennisport, MA; his son Deacon Peter (Sondra) Nassetta of Cullman; his son Rick (Debbie) Nassetta of Tustin, CA; his daughter Karen Nassetta (John) Basilica of Baton Rouge, LA, his brother Thomas (Peg) Nassetta of Norwell, MA, and his brother Paul (Kay) Nassetta of Arlington, VA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anthonys memory to the Sacred Heart Fund, c/o Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 205 3rd Avenue SE, Cullman, AL 35055. Visitation will be from 7:15 to 9:30 pm on , 6th at Sacred Heart Church, with a rosary at 8:00 pm. |
