Obituary: Edward J. Nolan age 78 years died in the Harrington House and Rehabilitation in Walpole, Massachusetts on , May 23, 2011. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on 6, 1933; he was the son of the late Edward J. and Gladys L. (Bonvie) Nolan. He graduated from Roslindale High School with the class of 1950. Mr. Nolan proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force, and was discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He has been a resident of Foxborough for the past month, moving there from Walpole, Massachusetts where he spent 45 years. He worked as a production manager for Digital a\ H.P. in Maynard, Massachusetts for 16 years, and retired in 1993. Mr. Nolan volunteered his time to drive cancer patients to various appointments through the American Cancer Society and also worked to support the Womens Lunch Place, the Pine Street Inn, and the Saint Francis House. In addition, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Walpole. He would always reach out to his fellow man to help and counsel. He enjoyed doing yard work and painting with Water Colors. Beloved husband of Marcia A. (Erwin) Nolan. Loving father of Mark E. and his wife Susan Nolan of Sparta, NJ, Jennifer A. Nolan and Lisa Nolan both of Foxborough. Cherished grandfather of Sydney L. Nolan and Taylor J. Nolan both of Sparta, NJ. Brother of Ann F. Nolan of Foxborough. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Mass that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church on , May 28, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. Obituary: Charles Patrick Nolan of Plymouth, formerly of Medfield, died peacefully on 30th in his home with his family by his side. He is the cherished husband of Nancy (Tuszynski) Nolan, loving father of Christine (Nolan) Saidla and her husband Adam of Arlington, the loving father of Charles Nolan and his wife Kristy of Pembroke, and beloved ?Big Charlie? to Olivia. Brother of James Nolan of Dedham, William Nolan of Manomet and Margaret (Nolan) Pendergast of New Port Richey, FL. Uncle Charlie is loved by many nieces and nephews and countless dear friends. Born in Cambridge, MA on 12, 1945, son of the late James and Margaret (Culhane) Nolan. He is a proud graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School, Boston State, and the US Army Intelligence . He also attended UMass and the University of Virginia. Charlie served in the US Army with the 902nd Military Intelligence Group in Washington, D.C. and received the Army Commendation Medal among other honors for his service. Charlie was active in local, state and federal politics having worked with several noted politicians including Speaker of the House Thomas P. O?Neill, Lieutenant Governor Thomas P. O?Neill, III, and presidential candidate Jimmy Carter. He was a past owner of Evanston Auto in Evanston, IL and later managed the Everett Shops for the MBTA. Later in life, Charlie turned his talents in carpentry and construction into a successful business. A talented hockey player, Charlie volunteered as a hockey coach in Medfield and also served as the President of Medfield Youth Hockey. He enjoyed coaching Little League for many years. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Night Hackers. His love of politics kept him active in local political campaigns, both in Medfield and Plymouth. He was a daily communicant at St. Bonaventure Church and was active in his parish community. He took great pride and joy in his home and loved to entertain there. He was famously known as the life of the party. Taking and sharing photos and videos of family and friends brought him great joy. He wanted to capture everything on film as a special moment in time. As a result, he leaves a beautiful photographic legacy for his family. We will remember Charlie?s sense of humor and quick wit as well as his passion for political discussions. We will deeply miss his kind heart, his love for life, family and friends, his energy, his creativity, and his unique ability to make everyone around him feel special. Charlie and his family are eternally grateful to the doctors and staff at Dana Farber who were more like angels paving the path of his journey with incredible skill, dedication, compassion, and love. from the Davis , 619 State Rd., Manomet on , 6th at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bonaventure Church, 803 State Rd., Manomet at 10:00 am.
