Obituary: Marian Neeb, 80, of Perry Hall, passed away peacefully on 18 and was reunited in eternity with her beloved husband of more than 60 years, who died just 4 months before. Mrs. Neeb was born on 21, 1934 to John Paul and Ada (Dalton) Hubbard of Roanoke, VA. As a child, her gifts for music and the arts were evident from an early age, and she studied voice and sang on local radio programs. She attended Ferrum , where she met George Neeb, of Baltimore. The couple married on 12, 1953. As a young bride, she worked to save money to join her husband in Orleans, France, where he was stationed with the U.S. Army. When his service was completed, they returned to Baltimore, where Mrs. Neeb became active in the United Methodist Church. She would remain so throughout her life. She sang in the choir and was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Women. In addition, she performed as a soloist at many weddings and local events. While her husband completed his post-secondary education in night school, Mrs. Neeb supported him by taking care of the home, their growing family, and an extended family. When her children were on their own, she was able to pursue her interests in music and theater. She joined the Senior Star Showcase at the Community of Baltimore , and performed in numerous productions-in both leading and support roles. She also was a member of the Senior Star Showcases touring group who took their shows on the road, giving live performances in Las Vegas, Orlando, and on many cruise ships. She also performed with the Cockpit in Court Theatre when she portrayed Clairee in the troupes production of Steel Magnolias. She was most proud of the reparatory group she formed, Celebrations, along with some friends, and they dedicated all proceeds from their performances to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. She and her husband travelled extensively together, touring the United States, Europe, and taking many cruises. She wrote poetry and music, sketched, and was an avid movie buff. She had a special devotion to her grandchildren, whom she loved to entertain with funny games and songs she invented. With her affectionate, outgoing personality, an outrageous sense of humor, and the voice of an angel, she brought warmth and happiness to many lives. Mrs. Neeb is survived by her three daughters: Laura (David) Elliott Quintiero, of Charlotte, NC; Vanessa (Matthew) Yanson, of Woodstock, MD; and Carol (Bobby) Loyd, of Princeton, NJ. She was the beloved grandmother of eight grandchildren: Sean and Catherine Taneyhill; Meghan and Jonathan Elliott; and Matthew, Shane, Jack, and Ava Loyd. Her sister, Sarah Vickey (Robert) Kloetzer, of New Market, VA, also survives her. The family will receive guests on , 10, at Schimunek , 9705 Belair Road, Nottingham, MD, 21236, from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at Camp Chapel United Methodist Church, 5000 E. Joppa Rd., Perry Hall, MD, 21128, on 11 at 11:00 AM. Obituary: George Neeb, 80, of Perry Hall, passed away peacefully on 9th surrounded by loved ones. He was a retired police officer and teacher, a devoted husband, an extraordinary father and +grandfather, and a loyal friend. With his own brand of quiet strength, he was a warrior who stood up tenaciously to all manner of forces, from crime to cancer. Mr. Neeb was born on 17, 1933 to George Sr. and Eula Neeb. He attended Ferrum in Virginia, where he met and married Marian Hubbard. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, and returned from his station in France in 1956. He joined the Baltimore Police Department, serving along with his father. During his 20-year tenure he held many roles, including instructor at the Police Academy and head of the detective division. By special invitation, he attended the FBI Academy. A lifelong scholar, he completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Baltimore and graduate studies at George Washington University, all while working full time, raising a young family, and supporting an extended family. In 1975, he retired from the police department as a major and embarked on his second career-the one to which he had always aspired-as a teacher. From 1975 to 1996, he taught criminal justice at the Community of Baltimore , and retired as a tenured faculty member. In that capacity, he handed down his high standards to a generation of law enforcement officers who followed him. Mr. Neeb was an avid reader, golfer, and traveler. In his retirement, he took trips such as a driving tour across the US, a European cruise, and a whitewater rafting expedition with some of his grandchildren. He loved to entertain, and was host of many memorable parties over the years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three daughters: Laura (David, deceased) Elliott, of Charlotte, NC; Vanessa (Matthew) Yanson, of Woodstock, MD; and Carol (Bobby) Loyd, of Princeton, NJ. He was a cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren: Sean and Catherine Taneyhill; Meghan and Jonathan Elliott; and Matthew, Shane, Jack, and Ava Loyd. His beloved sister, Gloria Benson, and her husband, William Arthur, also survive him. The family will welcome guests on , 12 at Schimuneks , 9705 Belair Rd, Nottingham, for viewings from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and a memorial service with full military honors at 7:30 PM.
