Obituary: Gertrude Butsy B. Nini, a native of Morgan City, former resident of Berwick, and longtime resident of Bayou Vista passed away, , 26, 2014 at the age of 94. Butsy was a resilient woman, who was able to overcome many health obstacles in her life. She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking and providing for her family. She was a gifted seamstress, who made many beautiful dresses for her children, grandchildren, and family. Butsy also gave back to the community, having worked as a Hospital Ladies Auxiliary Volunteer for the former Fairview Hospital in Bayou Vista. Butsy leaves to cherish her memory her three loving children, Harold Nini and his wife, Cherry, of Houma, Hansel Nini Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Bayou Vista, and Susan Lambert and her husband, Glenn, of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Cherrie Lombes and her husband, Chanse, of New Iberia, Hal Nini and his wife, Gina, of Houma, Christie dela Brettonne and her husband, John, of Houma, Mark Nini and his wife, Catherine, of Berwick, Stacey Shackett and her husband, James, of Bayou Vista, Lydia LeMaire and her husband Jeremy, of Lafayette, and Julie Knight and her husband, Wesley, of Lafayette; 14 great grandchildren, C.J. Lombes Jr. , Caitlin, Victoria, Caroline, Madeline, and Thomas Nini, Clay, Dale, and Lee Broussard, Brittany, Megan, and Ada LeMaire, and Lily and Hudson Knight. Obituary: MONA RUTH NINEMIRE, 50 OAK GROVE, LOUISIANA Cox Oak Grove, Louisiana Mona Ruth Ninemire was born 18, 1963, in Alva, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on 26, 2014, in Lake Providence, Louisiana, at the age of 50 years, 10 months, 8 days. She was the youngest of 5 children born to Paul & Gussie Ninemire. Mona graduated from Charles Page High School in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, in 1981 and went on to attend Anderson in Anderson, Indiana. She graduated with a B. A. in Marriage & Family Relations. college she lived and worked as a nanny in Sand Springs, Oklahoma before moving to Oak Grove, Louisiana. In 1992 she began her 22-year career with John Gathings, CPA, where she was the Accounts Manager until her sudden illness in of this year. She spent the last months of her life in rehab facilities in Minden and Lake Providence, Louisiana, as she struggled to regain her health while her father and family faithfully attended her needs. She received her complete healing as she was ushered into Heaven and given her new body and her beautiful voice was restored. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Meadowview Rehab and Shady Lake Rehab & Facility. Mona used her musical talents to glorify God and bring enjoyment to many people. She directed 20 childrens Christmas musicals at First Church of God between 1991 and 2010. She led worship, sang in small group as well as the choir, and sang many solos. Her wonderful gift of music will be greatly missed. She is remembered for her love of life, contagious laughter, sense of humor, and her beautiful smile! Mona was preceded in death by her mother, Gussie Ninemire and her nephew, Jonathan Walker. She is survived by her father, Paul Ninemire; sisters - Cheryl Walker & Steve, Porterville, CA; Paula Riley & Don, Oak Grove, LA; Teressa Traylor & Reese, Oak Grove, LA; brother - Tim Ninemire & Debbie, Bay City, MI; 8 nieces & nephews – Trent, Kendra, Brianne, Bryce, Ryan, Grant, Jared, Caleb; and 24 great nieces & nephews. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends on , 31, 2014, between the hours of 5 to 9 p.m. at First Church of God in Oak Grove. Memorial service will be on , 1, 2014, 10 a.m. at First Church of God. Memorials will be used to establish MoNotes Music in West Carroll Parish to carry on Monas legacy of music. |

She was a 2013 honor graduate of Sulphur High School and was an accomplished singer with many honors. She had the voice of an angel and was the most precious soul that walked this earth. Loving father of Theresa N. Alonso, Floyd J. Niette Jr. and the late Joan N. Fury. Loving stepfather of Laura M. Shackford, and the late Michael L. Meridier. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Niette and Luevishia Free and his siblings, Luther Niette, Lee Niette, Lillie N. Moore, Ida N. Watson, Betty N. Buhler and Anne N. Cullefer. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, Cliff A. Parker, Loyston Guillory, Zachary Fury, Erika Niette, Nichole Niette, Floyd Niette, III, the late Clint A. Parker and other relatives. Born in Robeline, Louisiana on 10, 1930, he was a lifelong resident of Kenner, Louisiana and a resident of Chateau Living since 2015. Floyd proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, UN Service Metal, National Defense Service Metal, Korean PUC, and a Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the VFW Post 6640 Metry. He retired as a welder with American Marine Corporation. Floyd was a hard worker who enjoyed doing home improvement projects, gardening, welding and listening to Country and Cajun music. He was a man who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and was a true craftsman who had a remarkable talent with his hands. Floyd was dearly loved, an amazing, kindhearted man with a heart full of gold who loved to help his family, neighbors and friends. He will be missed but never forgotten.
