Obituary: Mrs. Doris L. Norton, 77, of Sparks, Georgia passed away 25, 2014 at her residence following a short illness. Mrs. Norton was born in Telfair on 13, 1936 to the late George Doyle Logue and Jeannie Varnadore Logue. She was a member of the Gordon Avenue Baptist Church, a retired supervisor with Nashville Mills, and had lived in Cook for the past 31 years. She was the widow of Rev. Dale E. Norton. Mrs. Norton is survived by her daughter, Patricia Pat Dalsky of Sparks; her two grandchildren and their spouses: Jenny and Nathan Taylor, and Brittany and T.J. Smith, all of Sparks; four great-grandchildren: Jenny M. Taylor, Nichole Taylor, Brayden Smith, and Jayden Smith, all of Sparks; one brother, Robert Logue and one sister-in-law, Edna Logue both of Macon, Georgia; also several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ethel Marie Smith, four brothers and four sisters. services were held at 3:30 PM , 27, 2014 at the Chapel of Boone , 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., with Rev. Wayne Boykin and Dr. Danny Ray officiating. Interment followed at 6:00 PM at the Riverside in Telfair . Visitation was held prior to the service time from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM at the funeral home. Nancy Smith played piano and Larry Corbett sang Beulah Land; Go Rest High On That Mountain was also played at the service. Randy Taylor, Steve Perry, Phillip Davis, Rudolph Robinson, Barry Medley, and Ronnie Register served as pallbearers; Troy Bryan and William Bryan served as as honorary pallbearers. Obituary: Heavenly Birthday: 25, 2015 Mr. Bernard Norton, age 85, of Hilltop Lane, Toccoa, Georgia passed away , 25th, 2015 following his daughter Tammys birthday. Born 12, 1930 in Stephens , Georgia, he was the son of the late Noah Norton and Bertie Mae Miller Norton. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, served as a Private PVT in the U.S. Army (8/23/54-8/13/56), was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He retired from Vermont America following work at WABCO/Letourneau and Duke Power. Mr. Norton loved his family and pets as well as fishing, hunting, hot-rodding cars and wheelchairs, cooking and eating sweets while enjoying his coffee with family and friends, cross-stitching, dancing, listening to and watching his son Kim play music. Family members include his son and daughter-in-law, Kim Norton and Angie Chappelear; grandson and his wife, Michael and Nicole OBarr; great-granddaughter, Weslyn OBarr; sisters-in-law/brothers-in-law, Jerry and Valeria Dean Montgomery, Daniel and Carolyn Dean Barnes, Ann and Dan Dean, Betty Dean Powers, Andrea and Dennis Dean; and several nieces and nephews. Bernard was reunited in Heaven with his wife of 61 years, Lola Lucille Dean Norton; their daughter, Tammy Norton OBarr Brown; a sister Gertrude Trudy Norton Stonecypher and brother-in-law Frank Stonecypher; brothers-in-law, Charles Dean and Randell Powers. Deep gratitude is extended to Karen Hutchcraft, Jennifer Brady, Gwen Forester, Neils Cortes and all of the kind staff of Pruitts care who offered years of care to both Bernard and Lucille during their years of residency. services will be held at four oclock , 30th, 2015 at the Whitlock Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. David Ritcey officiating. Military burial with honors will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church . The following family members will serve as honorary pallbearers; Steve Stonecypher, Frank Pless, Jerry Montgomery, Dan Dean, Dennis Dean, Randy Powers, and Joe Powers.
