Obituary: NORMAN, PAUL VIVRET made his transition on , 8, 2016. Born in Waterloo, IA on 19, 1941, he was the first born son of the late Vivret and Lois Henry Norman. graduating High School, he attended Northern Iowa and Wilberforce Universities. He attended and graduated from the Minnesota School of Business with a degree in Business Management-Accounting. From the University of Minnesota, Paul received his BA in Psychology and his MA in Education, Psychology, and Counseling. Paul married Mary Busse in 1964 and to that union was born a daughter, Lisa Kay Norman. in 1972 Paul married Ceola Lazo and his son, Chad Henry Norman was born. On 30, 1992, Paul was united in marriage with Lurline Baker-Kent. This union blended their six children: one daughter Lisa Kay Norman, and five sons: Chad Norman, Michael Baker, Kenneth Baker (deceased), Keith Baker, and Darnell Baker. Paul and Lurline lived in Minnesota until 2002 when they retired and moved to Port St. Lucie, FL. to enjoy the warmth and the sunshine. He was the South Florida host with the most, always entertaining friends and family in their home; serenading them with the best music an ear could hear. Paul accepted Christ at a young age and became a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Waterloo, IA. In Minnesota, he was a member of Greater Sabathani Baptist Church and later moved and served as a Trustee for Macedonia Baptist Church. Most recently, he was a dedicated member of the Sunrise Baptist Church in Port St. Lucie, FL where he served on the Board of Trustees and organized the Men's Ministry. Paul's employment opportunities were mostly in the Twin Cities area of MN. Although he held many prestigious positions, his passion was in helping people become their best selves. He was a member of the Association of Black Psychologists of MN and Past Worshipful Master of the Anchor Hilliard Lodge #2 of Minneapolis, MN. Paul's many volunteer services in MN included serving as Chairman of the Institute on Black Chemical Abuse; the Storefront Youth Action (now called Headway Emotional Services); the Hennepin Community Services Departments Affirmative Action Agenda; and the Fund Distribution Committee of the United Way. He was the founder of two organizations whose missions were serving the needs of children. were Gelande Youth Ski Club and the Southdale YMCA Alternative School of Minneapolis. He was a co-founder of the Major Taylor Bicycle Club of MN. He served as Convener of the group to continue support of the projects and teachings from the Million Man MARCH (Men Are Responsible To Cultivate Hope). In addition to all of these activities, Paul still found time to enjoy his many hobbies such as: cross country bicycle riding, skiing, bowling, golfing, listening to great music and camping. Surviving to reflect on precious memories are: a devoted wife, Lurline Baker-Kent of PSL, FL; a loving daughter, Lisa Kay Norman (Tye Green) MN; five sons; Chad Henry Norman of Minneapolis, MN, Michael Baker of Italy, Keith Baker and Darnell Baker (Jodi) both of Minneapolis, MN; he was predeceased by his son Kenneth Baker; one sister, Marcia Norman Murray, Bloomington, MN; and one brother, Kendall Norman (Felicia) of Cincinnati, OH; five nephews, Kevin Norman (Angela) of Cincinnati, OH; Eric Norman (Joanna) of Houston, TX; Rodney Norman (Pamela) of Washington, D.C.; Roger Norman of Cincinnati, OH; and Todd Murray (Kim) of Phoenix, AZ; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives, friends, church family and neighbors. Obituary: Nola Norman, 97, Tallahassee resident for 10 years, formerly of Floral City, entered into peace & rest with her Lord Jesus Christ on 29, 2011 at Westminister Oaks. Nola was born 16, 1913 in the mountains of West Virginia. She is preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Paul Norman. Obituary: Nelle Bookout Norman of Jacksonville died 5th. She was born 19, 1922 in Grover, NC to Arthur and Carrie Beam Bookout. She was preceded in death by her husband Josephus Norman, siblings: Arthur, Conrad, Roy, and Joe Bookout, Frances Jolly, Jean Crowell and Modell Jarrett, her brothers-in-law Horace Jolly, Joe Crowell and Harry Jarrett and sister-in-law Jane Bookout. She is survived by sisters-in-law Pelham Bookout, Martha Bookout and Evelyn Bookout. She is also survived by her daughter Laura Wareh (Faiz), son Joe Norman, grandchildren Lynn Coles (Jay), Marie Wareh, Rashad Wareh (Peggy) and Tarik Wareh (Patricia). Nelle cherished six great grandchildren Jack, Sam and Elena Coles, Faiz and Cora Wareh, and Tatiana Bowe. Nelle was a gifted teacher who inspired many students to pursue a career in science and inspired and mentored many teachers. One initiative in which she took special pride was volunteering to be among the teachers who first integrated the faculty of Raines High School. She later described her years at Raines as the most satisfying of her teaching career. Services will be at 11AM the 8th at Shepherd of the Woods Lutheran Church, 7860 Southside Blvd, Jacksonville 32256 with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Warren Smith , Jacksonville Beach, FL. The family suggests memorials in Nelles name in lieu of flowers to the Samuel C. Taylor Foundation, 6605 Chester Circle, Jacksonville, FL 32217, in recognition of the professional and loving care they provided Nelle in her final years, or ELCA Foundation, 8765 W.
