Obituary: Gregory Lewis NeSmith, 69, passed away , 5, 2016. Greg was a man of faith, integrity, loyalty, love of family and honor. He was born in Syracuse, New York and grew up in Fort Valley, Georgia. graduating from college he moved to Jacksonville, Florida. He worked for Prudential Insurance for 46 years as a Prudential Advisor. He held many industry designations - CLU, CHFC, CLTC, IAR and many other accomplished recognitions. The greatest pleasure and satisfaction thru his work came with the long term relationships he had with clients and others built around trust, integrity and friendship. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Linda, who he always referred to as he love of his life with her dimpled smile and beautiful blue eyes; children, Lisa Chapnerkar (Sudhir), Melissa Myrick (Todd), Scott NeSmith (Michelle), Brian NeSmith, Doug NeSmith and Kate NeSmith and 5 grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Linton NeSmith; her daughters, Jennifer Shedlin and Rebekah Webb; brother, Leslie Thompson; sister, Joan Sowell; three step-children, Stephen NeSmith, Dr. Tom NeSmith and Jody Cooley; nine grandchildren, Jacob, Taylor, Russell, Carmen, Tabitha, Jamie, Josh, Vanessa, Hannah; five great-grandchildren and host of beloved family, friends, and daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws. Gloria resided in Jacksonville, Florida for over 32 years. She was the definition of a true down-to-earth southern woman. Gloria was a friend to everyone she met and greeted you with hello darlin. She easily captivated people with her southern whit, charm and infectious smile. She always knew exactly what to say in a situation to get a smile and sooth anyone. The most noted quotes shed say in her sweet southern voice were hat dog won hunt, his too shall pass, my dear, and the most famous one when upset, aww\just get over it darlin. Gloria was known for her talent for decorating and interior design of the south and equally known for her love of cooking amazing southern food. Friends and family would refer to her home as being straight out of a Southern Living magazine. Christmas was by far her favorite holiday so she could cook and entertain for family and friends. She was a devout Methodist and strongly believed in her faith and lived by Christian principles and values. She instilled those same values in her family and was the matriarch of the family, a wonderful loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to all.
