Obituary: Thomas Garold Murdock left this Earth on the morning of 7, 2017, in Paonia, Colorado. Gary, as family and friends knew him, was born to Lorene and Thomas Murdock in Garden City, Kansas, on 3, 1934. Following his mothers tragic death from a car accident in 1945, Gary and his father left their home in Southern California and moved often. As an adolescent, Gary eventually settled in Konawa, Oklahoma, with his maternal grandparents, M.C. and Grace Hicks. While in Konawa, Gary met his best friend of more than 60 years, Joe Ray Thomas. graduating from Konawa High School in 1952, Gary enrolled in East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, where Joe Ray introduced him to his first cousin, Kathryn Beth Russell. The beautiful, smart, and caring young woman immediately caught the attention of Gary, who later called her for a date. The rest is, as they say, history. The two married on May 27, 1955, and built a family with their three children. Professionally, Gary worked for a time as a draftsman for McDonald Douglas in Southern California, but spent the majority of his career in the insurance industry, and even served as the mayor of Mannford, Oklahoma. In his later years, Gary, a gifted artist, revisited his love of art. He took several art classes and enjoyed attending art festivals and activities in Downtown Oklahoma City. Together, Gary and Beth enjoyed traveling and attending Oklahoma Sooner womens basketball games, but most of all they loved spending time with their grandchildren. It is indisputable that Garys true passion in life was his grandchildren, whom affectionately called him Papa. There is nothing that Papa wouldn do for his grandchildren. No amount of distance, time, effort, money, health or work stood in the way of Granny and Papas relationships with their grandchildren. The pride and love Gary held for his grandchildren often became the focal point of his life. Gary is preceded in death by his wife, Beth ( 6th, 2009). Survived by his sons, Kelly (Lori) of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; Kerry (Joy) of Traverse City, Michigan; daughter, Kim Zepeda of Grand Junction, Colorado; grandsons, Jake Murdock, Chance Turner, Jarret Zepeda, Nic Murdock, Dakota Murdock, Andrew Murdock and Joshua Murdock; granddaughters, Jasmine Hill and Sydnee Ernst; and ten great-grandchildren. Garys family will celebrate his life in a private ceremony on , 14, 2017. Memorial donations may be made in Garys honor to the Alzheimers Association, www.alz.org. |

Obituary: Harvey Murdock was born in Denver, Colorado on 14, 1924 to Raymond Murdock and Mary (Hagenlock) Murdock. He grew up in Denver, Colorado. When he was an infant, his parents were divorced; his mother later remarried John Shaball. Harvey grew up in north Denver and attended North High School. He joined the United States Navy on 26, 1942, during World War II, at the age of 17. He was sent to the Naval Boot Camp located in Great Lakes area. Following the completion of boot camp, he submitted his application to train for submarine duty. passing the criteria for submarine duty, he served as a Gunner's Mate on two submarines: USS Saury and USS Sargo, doing six war patrols tours. His naval career ended on 12, 1945 when he received an Honorable discharge from the US Navy. He went to California in 1947 and worked at Consolidated Airlines, returning to Denver before year end. Upon his return to Denver, Harvey worked at Gates Rubber where he met Clarabelle Haines, from Walsenburg, Colorado. were married on 26th in 1951 and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on 26, 2016. Harvey and Clarabelle ended their careers working together again during their employment at Frontier Airlines. Both retired from Frontier Airlines in of 1984. moved to Windsor Gardens on 1, 1987 and currently reside in Windsor Gardens. Harvey is survived by his wife, Clarabelle; daughter Irma Lee Varney; three grandsons, Derek (Margaret) Varney, Dustin (Melanie) Varney and Dana (Melissa) Varney. His family was blessed with the addition of six wonderful great-grandchildren, Courtney Elizabeth, Ryan Terek, Cole Austin, Beau Hayden, Nathan Donald and Kayden Leslie. Harvey is a member of Park Hill Masonic Lodge. Harvey also joined the Scottish Rite in 1963. Harvey & Clarabelle are members of Capital Hill Chapter #119, Order of the Eastern Star, are Past Matron & Patron of Capital Hill Chapter #119 from 1967-1968. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, , 8, 2016 at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. Interment will be held in Olinger Chapel Hill . |

Obituary: Vonnie"Skip" Murdoch Oct 10, 1918 - Feb 19, 2016 Vonnie "Skip" Marie Lutz Murdoch Vonnie was born at home in Loma, Colorado, her parents were Charles and Edith Smith Lutz. Growing up on a farm in Loma with one brother and four sisters was a special time in her life. She had many happy memories and great stories to tell about her childhood. She graduated from Fruita High School during the depression era in 1937. On May 30, 1942, she married Bruce A. Murdoch in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Bruce was on active duty and in the United States Air Force when they married. While he was overseas, during World War II, Vonnie worked as a machine operator at Remington Arms in Denver, Colorado. the war, Bruce was employed with the U. S. Forest Service. The family enjoyed being transferred to many different locations in several states with this job. Vonnie enjoyed her role as housewife and mother. She had many hobbies, her favorites were horseback riding, square dancing, gardening, reading and traveling. Skip was the last of her generation, preceded in death by her husband, parents, all her siblings and their spouses. She is survived by her two daughters, Gail Blomberg and Linda Webb, two grandsons, three great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews. service will be at Martin Mortuary, 11:00 A.M., , 27, 2016.
