Obituary: Evelyn Kay Myles, affectionately known as Kay, a resident of North Pole, Alaska, went home to stay with her Lord and Savior on May 9, 2011 at the age of 72 in Yakima, WA. During Kays final days she was surrounded by loving family members and friends. Kay was born the first of two children on 5, 1939, in Croweburg, KS to Benjamin and Catherina (Ferrero) Watson. moved from Kansas to Yakima, WA where she was raised with her brother Ben, she graduated from Davis High School in 1958. A flat tire is responsible for the introduction of Kay to the love of her life, Ronald Ross Myles and they were married on 11th, 1959 in Yakima. Together, for more than 52 wonderful years, they experienced the changing scenes of life in loyal and loving companionship. Ron and Kay are members of the Southern Baptist Church in Foothills, AZ. She retired early from Battelle after working there as a computer operator. In their retirement years, Ron and Kay traveled the United States in their "home on wheels" and had the good fortune of being able to spend time with family and friends. wintered in Arizona, summered in Alaska and spent the spring and fall in the Greater Columbia Basin area. In their travels, they had the opportunity to visit every state in the union with the exception of Hawaii, meeting new people and making new friends. Kay enjoyed fishing, they had a boat in Alaska where they would go salmon fishing most summers, she was especially proud of a 50 pound king caught a few years ago. were always in search of a new golf course to play and would often alter their route to check out a different course. The following family members are left to cherish her memory, her husband, Ronald; two sons, David of Richland, WA and Donald of North Pole, AK; and brother, Benjamin Watson Jr. of Wenatchee, WA. She is also remembered and loved by her four grandchildren, Anthony, Crystal Martin, Nicholas and Brittney Myles and one great-grandchild, Kaelynne Martin. We rejoice in the knowledge that Kay has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who she faithfully served all of her life. Kay will be missed forever by those who loved her.
