Obituary: Peggy Johnson Moon, 71, of Rustburg, died , Jan. 28, 2011, at her residence. She was the widow of John Bruce Jack Moon. Born in Pittsylvania , she was the daughter of the late Clarence Lee Johnson and the late Sallie Robertson Johnson. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Johnson and one sister, Nancy Elizabeth Johnson. Peggy was a member of the Community Fellowship Baptist Church and a retired supervisor for A.O. Smith Electrical Co. after 36 years of service. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Gail Vaughn and her husband, Richard and Mary Lee Merryman and her husband, Rusty, all of Rustburg; three brothers, Curtis Johnson and his wife, Madeline, of Hurt, Roy Johnson and his wife, Debbie, of Gladys and J.C. Johnson of Hurt; four sisters, Dorothy J. Moye of Orlando, FL, Lucy J. Rollison of Society Hill, S.C., Mary J. Hudgins and her husband, Jim, of Lowary and Gracie J. Brown and her husband, Jim, of Michigan and three grandchildren, Ashley Viar, Jonathan Merryman and Stephen Merryman. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., , Jan. 30, 2011, at Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., , Jan. 29, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
