Obituary: Our father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend, Rex Delbert Mohlman, passed away early morning, 7, 2008, peacefully in his hotel room while on vacation at Snowbird Ski Resort. He fought a valiant fight and approached his lifelong physical challenges with unending good humor and grace.

Rex was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on 12, 1939, the first child of Orson D. (Art) Mohlman and Jeanette Maxwell Mohlman, both of whom preceded him in death.

His first years were spent in Logan while his father studied and graduated from Utah State University. Rex attended and graduated from Spanish Fork High School, then served an honorable mission to the Central Atlantic States Mission where he had great success. He had a particular love for the months he spent on Harkers Island, North Carolina teaching the gospel.

As a young man, he was known far and wide for his wonderful singing voice, and his love for performing in musical theater. He took this gift of music and used it often in the mission field, singing whenever the opportunities allowed, and even toured his mission with a missionary choir he had gathered where he shared his musical talents with great joy. He instilled in all of his children a love of music and performance, and took great pride in their performances of many different kinds.

returning from his mission, he majored in political science at BYU. Upon his graduation from the Y in 1964, he was selected as a White House Intern, a highly sought after honor. He then worked many years for the General Services Administration (GSA) in Washington State, taking an early retirement when his health further deteriorated and he and his family returned to Utah. Rex also devoted much of his life to teaching and coaching of numerous athletic teams, both of which brought him and his students great joy.

On 9, 1963, he married Tamara (Wagner), a fellow political science student, and together they had five children: Rex David (Diane) Mohlman; Laura Jean (Mohlman Judd); Andrew Maxwell (Michelle) Mohlman; Jonathan Grant (Leslie) Mohlman; and Timothy Wagner (Jessica) Mohlman. Rex and Tamara divorced in 1989, but remained deep and loving friends for the remainder of his life.

In 1990, Rex married Susan (Eyre Lewis) and took on the responsibility of loving and guiding her children- David (Lynette) Lewis; (Alex) Oosteven; John (Shauna) Lewis; and Emily (Trampis) Fleming; and all of their children. Rex was unfailingly kind to his family. He always had a smile for each of us and was a devoted Papa and Grandpa to his 34 grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Elaine (Joe) Francis of Layton, Utah and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. His beloved younger brother, Dr. Hal David (Patricia) Mohlman, also preceded him in death.

Tamara and her family express their love and endless gratitude to Susan for taking such kind, tender, and loving care of Rex, giving us all nearly 20 more years of his life with his attending joyful spirit.

Be well and finally free from the pains of this world, Dear Rex, from your many children, grandchildren, and your Dear Susan. Your many loved ones will sorely miss you and your joy for life.

Viewing time will be evening, 11, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main Street in Spanish Fork. Service time will be , 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crosswinds 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 1179 South 1700 East, Spanish Fork, with a viewing before from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork following the service.

Obituary: John Weldon Moffitt

John Weldon Moffitt, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully , 31, 2007 at his home in Orem, Utah. He was 79 years old.

Weldon was born 16, 1927 in Provo, Utah, the son of Elsie Erickson and John Clifton Moffitt. From his youth he demonstrated an aptitude for learning and was valedictorian of his graduating class at Provo High School- the school where his father was principal.

Weldon served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army. Following this service, he devoted himself to a study of psychology at Brigham Young University where he met and married Helen Snowberger of Eugene, Oregon. Together, they had six children: Janet, Debbie, Ariane, David, Martha and Roger.

Weldon received a masters degree from the University of Utah and a Ph.D in psychology from the University of Illinois. Following his studies, he accepted a position at Brigham Young University in the department of psychology. He was a well-known and respected international authority in the fields of management and organizational behavior. He worked as a consultant to numerous top executives and served on multiple occasions as an advisor to the United States government.

He was a fellow at the National Training Laboratories and a founding member of the Brigham Young University department of Organizational Behavior. Subsequently, he was invited by Pepperdine University to play an influential role in the development of their Organizational Behavior program. He taught and consulted in many countries including Thailand, Germany, and the Ukraine.

He was a man of great compassion and courage. During the 1960s, he traveled to Mississippi where he worked to promote quality education and voter registration among minorities. He worked as a literacy volunteer in Orem, a volunteer instructor for senior citizens and a mentor to thousands of students. He was an active High Priest of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the Sharon Park 12th Branch presidency at the time of his death.

He loved sports- particularly golf and tennis- and was active all his life. He loved learning and was an avid reader. Although Weldon has departed this world, he is now beginning his travels in another, more interesting land filled with vast history, cultures and people.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, his six children; Janet Moffitt, Debbie Wilkins, Ariane (Neil) Newell, David (JoLynn), Martha (Gregory) Peacock and Roger Moffitt, 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
