Obituary: Samuel "Sam" Lewis Morgan, 74, of Willis, Texas passed away on , 25, 2015. He was born in Houston, Texas on 5, 1940 and was preceded in death by his parents, George Green and Margaret Ann Morgan; his brothers, Jack Morgan; Robert "Bobby" Morgan; Albert Ross Morgan; James "Jimmy" Morgan; Johnny Morgan; and Sonny Morgan; his sisters, Avalon "Twitter" Morgan Hughes and Cora "Tincey" Morgan Armstrong. Also preceding him in death are his wife, Doris Jeanette "Jeanie" Jarboe Morgan; granddaughter, Marilyn Abigail "Abby" Young, both of Willis, and his step-son, Harvey Lee Green of Tonopah, AZ. Left to cherish his memories are his children, Beckie Morgan Warren and her husband Paul "Buddy" Warren, Jr. of Conroe, TX; George Morgan and his wife, Dawn of Willis, TX; Carol Morgan Johnston and her husband William "Bill" Johnston, of Conroe, TX; Janet Morgan Stark, of Willis, TX; Shirley Morgan Bridgeman and her husband Michael, of Yuma, AZ; Bridgit Morgan and Justin Sigford of Willis, TX; Mike Simpson of Willis, TX; Bobby Simpson of Willis, TX and Jay Simpson of Willis, TX. Sam was a proud father who felt blessed to have numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews in the Texas and Louisiana area, along with countless long time friends. His best friend, a Dachshund named Bud, will also miss him terribly. Sam lived in the Houston area until he and his family moved to Willis in the late 1970s. While living in Houston, he worked as a diesel mechanic at several major companies and then owned and operated numerous full-service gas stations and automotive repair shops. He also owned and operated automotive shops (J & S Automotive, Morgan's Automotive and Sam's Wrecker Service) in the Willis area until he retired in 2000. Upon retirement, he enjoyed spending more time with his friends and family also enjoyed time together playing horseshoes, rummy, and cooking on the grill. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on , 27, 2015 and services will be held on , 28, 2015 at 12:30 PM at Cashner , located at 801 Teas Road in Conroe, Texas. Obituary: On 20th, after a phone call to his wife telling her, Im headed home, Rev. Samuel L. Morgan was relocated to the Kingdom of Heaven. Sam had a full life that was lived everyday being kingdom minded. He came to know the Lord at the age of 6 and faithfully served Him his entire life. Sam was a proud graduate of the University of Texas in Austin, and a man after Gods own heart. He took every opportunity to share the Gospel that he lived by. He served as a faithful pastor to many, led countless souls to Christ and shared the message of the Gospel in over half a dozen countries. Sam often used his carpentry abilities to provide for his family, and was a builder in both faith and life. Most recently Sam retired his hammer and began a carrier as a Chaplin for Marketplace Ministries. Sam was faithful to the Lord, a tremendous leader and an encouraging counselor. He was an understanding, and loving: husband, father, papa, brother, son, uncle and friend. He was very humble and boasted only of his family and the Lord. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Rhonda Adkison Morgan, his twin sons, Aaron and Andrew Morgan, his daughter and, son in law Amanda and Adam Cloessner, two grandchildren Samantha and Bo, his mother Betty Morgan, his brother Mike Morgan and family, his two sisters, Gina Morgan and Elishea Smith and family, his brother in law, Randy Adkison and family, his mother in law Syble Adkison and countless friends. He was preceded in glory by his father, Rev. Ken Morgan, his father in law Rev. Bo Adkison, and his brother in law David E. Smith. Sam left suddenly to be with the Lord, but was always prepared for his final day as he had no need for a plan B. Whether it was pastoring a church, preaching the gospel, or spending time with family, he did everything with excellence and was always looking to be Jesus with skin on. His life affected many and no words can describe the impact he had on us all. Although we mourn for our loss, we praise the Lord for the life of Sam and say we will miss you. In your own words Sam you are free and clear to navigate. Visitation with the family was held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on , 24, 2014 at Waltrip Directors. His burial began at 10:00 a.m. on , 25 at Brookside Memorial Park. A memorial service was then celebrated at 2:00 p.m. at Encourager Church, 10950 Katy Freeway in Houston, 77043. Obituary: Ruby Catherine Morgan passed away 28, 2014. She was born in Vickery, TX on 16, 1920 to Charles Edgar Thomas and Ettie Lillian Remmer. Ruby grew up in a 1 room house in Vickery, TX. didn have any central heat and the house was very drafty so she would heat up a brick to keep her feet warm. She worked in the cotton fields for 25 cents a day and only received new shoes in the winter. While attending school Ruby would take homemade biscuits in a tin can for her lunch.Ruby was a hard working woman who was strong willed and very determined. She was never afraid to let you know what she was thinking, but at the same time was very sweet and understanding. As a young woman she sang for First Baptist Church of Vickery, and no matter which church she attended always gave her tithe. Ruby enjoyed dancing at Longhorn Ballroom, gardening and cooking. She could cook almost anything but her desert was always a favorite. She would make amazing coconut cream and lemon pies, and boxes of fudge. She liked to use her riding lawn mower while wearing her big hat, be doing anything outdoors, go fishing and spend every weekend at the lake.She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who like listening to classic music such as; Elvis, Patsy Cline and Jim Reeves. She never forgot to send a Hallmark birthday card to her family members and no matter what the circumstance was she rescued any animal in need. There was even an instance were her son in law accidentally hit a dog and she took it to the vet and got a cast on his leg. Above all the animals she owned and rescued Ruby loved her chickens; she would even collect and sell their eggs.She is preceded by her sons Shelly Thomas Downs III, Philip Michael Downs and David Anthony Downs.She is survived by her sons Craig Downs and wife Julie, James Morgan and wife Marcy; daughter Deborah Braudaway and husband Bo; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. |
