Obituary: Ryan Morey, 22, of Dallas passed away suddenly on 24, 2017 in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was a senior student at Tulane University. Ryan was born in El Paso, Texas as the only child of Dr. Allen and Louise Beth Morey. He was a 2013 graduate of Highland Park High School. working as a lifeguard at the Holmes Aquatic in Dallas, he attended Tulane where he majored in Latin American Studies with minors in Psychology and Spanish. His interests were broad and included animals, world travel, history, basketball, soccer, chess, music, coin collecting, and charity work. His goal was to attend law school and he worked as a forensic interviewer at the New Orleans Childs Advocacy (NOCAC), a group which provides investigation, intervention and treatment for child victims of sexual or physical abuse. The NOCAC staff shared that Ryan was a constant source of positivity and hope. Ryan was passionate about philanthropic activities that could improve the lives of children at NOCAC. Ryan is survived by many friends and family whose lives will never be the same without him. His beloved rescue dog Willa will be adopted by his dear friends in the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at Tulane. Throughout Ryans life he was always fortunate to have great friends who meant the world to him. A Memorial service will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest , 7405 West Northwest Highway in Dallas on 12, 2017 from noon until 1 pm. Visitation will be offered from 11 am until noon, and a reception at Sparkman/Hillcrest will follow from 1-3 pm. Obituary: Richard Stephen Morey of Georgetown, Texas died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, , 2, 2012. Richard was born May 2, 1932 in Seward, Nebraska to parents, Steve and Susie Morey. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri with his one sister and four brothers and attended Southwest High School where he made many lifelong friends. In 1951, shortly following his graduation from high school he became employed at Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line where he met his former wife, Betty Jane Snodgrass- Morey. In 1968, Richard moved his family to Panhandles corporate office in Houston, Texas and remained with Panhandle until 1983. He continued his work in the natural gas industry by forming his own independent firm, Rebel Energy and Consulting, Inc. in 1984 where he retired from in 1997. Richard had a great appreciation for all sports and was an avid Missouri Tigers fan. Baseball was his favorite sport. As a pitcher, he played Little League and then Semi-pro as a young man. He coached his son in Little League football and baseball from 1972 to 1979 at Memorial Ashford Little League. While he both coached and managed, he also served on the Board of Directors at various levels including President. Golf was another favorite sport Richard enjoyed playing. He appreciated a good round of morning golf and getting to the 19th hole to share scorecard stories with his buddies. Richard enjoyed tending to his yard, coin collecting and loved his big band music. He adored his grandchildren, was a great family man and loved his country. He is preceded in death by his father Stephen Morey; mother Susie Stone; sister Maxine Murrah; and brothers Bill and David Morey. Survivors include daughters, Kathie Thomas of Georgetown, Pam Spencer of Richmond, Texas; son Mike Morey of Glendora, California; brothers Paul Morey of Sheridan, Wyoming, John Morey of Carlsbad, California; sister-in-law Janet (Pat) Morey; granddaughters Tiffany Thomas of Houston, Texas, Jennifer Thomas of San Angelo, Texas; grandsons Chris Morey and Kevin Morey of Glendora, Texas; granddaughters Haley Chapman of Richmond, Texas and Kate Morey of Glendora, California; grandson Will Spencer of Richmond, Texas; sister-in-law Maxine Riley-Morey; former wife Betty Houghton of Lago Vista, Texas; along with a host of many loving nieces and nephews. In honoring Richards wishes his cremains will be interred near his father, Stephen us Morey, and his brother William Revis Morey, in Memorial Park in Kansas City, Missouri. His life was an inspirational journey and as such will be honored and celebrated on Richs Road . An informal gathering will be held in Georgetown on , 15th at the Uptown Social from 5-7 p.m. Even though his time in Georgetown was brief he impacted those he met and knew and he will be missed. The Houston Reception will be , 29, 2012 from 5-7 PM at: Memorial Park Municipal Golf Course Clubhouse 1001 E. Memorial Loop Houston, Texas 77007 713-863-8188 , 30, 2012 a celebration in his honor will be held in Kansas City, Missouri at his favorite Rafael Hotel at Country Club Plaza. Tentative time will be 5-7 PM. , 1, 2012 the journey will end with a Graveside service at 10 AM.
