Obituary: Patrick Joseph Monroe, 54, of San Antonio, Texas died , 25, 2007. He was a National Merit Scholar, graduating from Alamo Heights in 1970 and received his bachelorÂs degree from Trinity University. Patrick was a lifelong member of St. Peters Catholic Church. He was known for his wit and gifted mind, always possessing far reaching knowledge. Patrick cared for his mother in the last years of her life. He was deeply loved by his family. Patrick was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nellie Williams McKinney and his mother, Ethel Sophia Monroe. Survivors include cousins, John M. King, of Houston; Michael T. King of Little Rock; Stephen P. King of El Dorado, Arkansas; Matthew McKinney of New Braunsfels; Leann McKinney of Colorado; Billy Sullivan of Victoria; Mickey Sullivan of Goliad and Mary Jo Abramite of Goliad. Burial will follow in Kress under the personal care of Lemons of Plainview. Mrs. Monroe was born on 9, 1954 in Plainview, TX. to Grady and Nina (Owens) Borum. She married Bob Monroe on 23, 2000 in Plainview, TX. Mrs. Monroe spent her life caring for people as a nurse, she loved working on the farm, cooking, but her biggest passion was her family. As her family would tell you; she was the rock of the family. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Plainview. Mrs. Monroe is preceded in death by her mother; Nina, one daughter; Michelle Monroe, and one brother; Terry Broum. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband; Bob, two sons; Neils Christen Weiser and wife Tommy, Dakota Weiser and wife Ashlee, and one daughter; Jennifer Qualls and husband Ken. She also leaves behind two brothers; Gary Borum, Danny Borum and wife Kellie, and sisters; Angie Johnson and husband Dan, Patsy Davidson and husband Pete, and Tina McPherson and husband James.
