Obituary: Glenna Doris Mitchell, 91, of Hamilton, went to be with her Lord, , 11, 2015. Doris, as most knew her, was the daughter of P. H. and Dellar (Hallmark) Jones, Sr. She married Roy Gene Mitchell on 11, 1951 in Mitchell , Texas. Doris was devoted to her Lord, her Church and her family. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. She loved to cook and was good at it. She loved her two boys: Doug and Rick, six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Doris worked as a house keeper at the Forest Oaks for several years. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; P. H. and Dellar Jones, Sr.; her brother, Prentice Jones, Jr.; sisters, Bee Stevenson, Aliene Ritchey, Florence Morris. Doris is survived by her sons: Roy Douglas Mitchell and Wilma Tubbs of Hamilton, Ricky Gene Mitchell Fort Worth; sister, Paula Hodnett. Doris is also survived by six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. |

Obituary: Gladys Marie Kilgore Mitchell 26, 1931 \ 16, 2015 Gladys M. Mitchell, 83, of Marlin, passed away , 16, 2015, at her home following an extended illness. services will be at held 2 p.m., , 21, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Marlin with the Reverend Mark Newton officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest in Marlin. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on , 20, 2015 at Adams . Mrs. Mitchell was born on 26, 1931 in Chilton, Texas to Fred and Thelma Mae Spivey Kilgore. She married William Henry Mitchell on 21, 1951 in Marlin, Texas. Mrs. Mitchell spent her life working alongside her husband in their ranching business and as a Real Estate Broker. For more than 30 years, she partnered with her sister, Freddie, at Mitchell and Walker Realtors in Marlin. Mrs. Mitchells favorite activities included riding and showing horses with her daughter, Lisa, playing tennis, golf, bridge with friends, and winning golf tournaments at the Marlin Country Club. She was an active member of the Marlin Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Ladies Golf Association, Marlin Festival Association, McLanahan Riding Club, and various other civic and volunteer organizations in Falls . She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved to spend time with her family and many friends. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Marlin. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Mitchell Flores and husband, George, of Houston; grandchildren, Nicholas, Sydney, Sophia and Natalie Flores of Houston; and sister, Freddie Walker of Marlin, and several nieces, nephews, and their families. |

Obituary: Graveside services will be held for Geraldine (Gerry) Mitchell 97, of Kyle, Texas on , 23, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lakeland Hills Memorial Park south of Burnet, Texas. Billy E. Gandy Jr., her only grandson will be officiating. Mrs. Mitchell passed away 19, 2016 in Kyle, Texas. She was born in Castle, Oklahoma to John H. Meek and Minnie Taylor Meek on 22, 1918. She attended schools in Oklahoma and worked for Southwestern Bell in Oklahoma for eleven years before moving to San Antonio, Texas in 1948. In 1949, she moved to Copperas Cove where she worked and retired from Civil Service at Ft. Hood in 1981. While living in Copperas Cove Mrs. Mitchell belonged to the Copperas Cove Garden Club, Lone Star Chapter of the Gold Star Wives of America and the National Wildlife Federation. She is survived by a son, John Gordon Wilson and wife Linda of Paducah, Texas, daughter, Sue Gandy and husband Bill of Kyle, Texas, two brothers, John Meek of Tecumseh, Oklahoma and James E. Meek of Shawnee, Oklahoma, grandson Billy Gandy Jr. and wife Holly and their two sons Trace and Cody of Kyle, Texas, a granddaughter Deanne Shultz and husband Trey and their two sons Joshua and Michael of Buda, Texas. A visitation will be held on , 23, 2016 from 9:00 AM -11:30 AM in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers of Copperas Cove. Memorials may be made to the Cherokee Childrens , 13355 TX-16, Cherokee, Texas 76832 or to a childrens hospital of ones choice. Obituary: NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- George Reynolds Mitchell,96,passed away on , 19, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Graveside: 2PM in Shannon Rose Hill . Visitation: 12:30-1:30pm at Shannon Rose Hill . George Reynolds Mitchell, was born 7, 1919 in Arlington. He moved to Handley in the mid 1930's, attended and graduated from Handley High School in 1938. During his high school years he was an outstanding football player and captain of his team. He served his country during time of wars & peace. He served in the South Pacific during WWII and in Korea during the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. He retired from the military in 1965 from Headquarters Air Rescue Service as a Senior Non-Commissioned officer in the Helicopter Maintenance Division in Rescue in Headquarters Air Rescue as Technical Advisor to the Deputy Chief of Staff in Helicopter Maintenance. During 1957 he participated in the atmospheric nuclear weapons testing at Yucca Flats Nevada test site. He was flight engineer aboard a H-21 Helicopter that participated in Operation Plumbod. During his military career he received many awards and decorations. Among them he received the Armed Forces expeditionary medal. With 2 bronze stars (A U.S. military decoration awarded either for heroism or for meritorious achievement in ground combat), the Air Force commendation medal and the Air Force outstanding unit award. retiring from the Air Force with 24 years of military service he was employed by the Department of Defense as an industrial specialist working with private industry in Texas that had government contracts. He was a graduate of the Air University Institute of technical school of symptoms and logistics in contract management. His last assignment was with the Defense Contract Agency with offices in Dallas. He had a total of 38 years of government service. Survivors: He married his beloved wife Rosemary Whittle, 1, 1941 and they were blessed with two daughters, Ray Frances Lorenz(Roger H.) and Georgeann Mitchell; and later with grandchildren, Amy Lorenz Davis and Schyler Mitchell Magdziak (Cody); one great granddaughter Kylie Foster. |
