Obituary: Robert Austin Milner passed peacefully on , 5, surrounded by his family. Son of Bartow Earl Milner and Effie Lee Bond, Bob was born on 29, 1923, in Haynesville, Louisiana, the third of four children. He served in the Army Air Corps for three years during WWII, flying a P-51 Mustang fighter plane, which he named Little Rebel, a nickname he had earned during training. Following his service, he earned his petroleum engineering degree at the University of Oklahoma, where he met his bride of 68 years, Frances. His 30 year career took the adventurous couple from Oklahoma to Texas and New Orleans, before landing in Kingwood in 1973. An engineer through and through, Bob was always busy creating solutions to problems.how to keep the squirrels from getting his tomatoes or build the most perfectly fitting window covers to put up during a hurricane. He also utilized that detailed perfection of an engineers mind when building toy marionettes and skateboard ramps for his grandchildren and in the recipe development for his famous blackberry jam. He had a lifelong love of learning, reading and education that he instilled in his children and grandchildren and they all fondly remember the pop quizzes and spelling bees he would have prepared for them in order to earn their afterschool treat. Bob had many hobbies and passions throughout his life, including golfing, fishing and gardening, but nothing brought him more joy than his family and friends. He loved his daily trips to Embody for a walk on the treadmill, coffee and conversation with his fellow gym rats. He equally loved following up his morning at the gym with a trip to Cracker Barrel, where he fostered many friendships over his daily breakfast of the Bob Special. His sense of humor, quick wit and kind and loving heart earned him admiration and friendships with all who met him, and for many, he became much more than a friend, but a mentor and father figure as well. No matter what you knew him by, Bob, Daddy, Mr. Milner, PawPaw or Old and Ugly, he was one of those special people who truly was loved by all. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Frances; daughter Terry Kelly and her husband Allen; daughter Linda Davis and her husband Steve; grandchildren: Brett, Jennifer, Brandy and Amy; and five great-grandchildren. , along with many more family and friends, will cherish their memories of Bob, the love he constantly showed and the lasting impact he made in their lives. A Celebration of Bobs Life will take place on , 18, at 4pm at Kingwood United Methodist Church and be followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choosing. |

Obituary: Robert (Bob) Wells Milner III, 81, passed away , 2, 2014. Bob was a native Houstonian, born 4, 1932, to Robert Wells Milner Jr. and Mae Carrell Milner. Bob initially studied Architectural Engineering in college, but graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Miami, where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He then joined the Navy as an officer for 2 years and qualified for flight school. He elected instead to start a family with his wife Norma Christman Milner. He and Norma had three children: Robert Wells IV, Julianna, and Myles Christman. Bob had an entrepreneurial spirit. He and Norma started and managed several family businesses over a 45 year period. founded Roman Marble Co. in 1972, providing custom marble sinks, countertops and shower enclosures to the housing and apartment industry for 20 years. In 1991 they founded Cast Fireplaces Inc., which manufactures cast stone fireplace surrounds and other products designed by Bob. He continued to manage Cast Fireplaces with Julianna and Myles until the time of his passing. His adventurous spirit was not limited to business. He enjoyed traveling to foreign lands and undertak-ing new activities even later in life. He learned to snow ski at the age of 65 and, with his sons, joined a Christian mens ski group called the Gorilla Skiers. He was known amongst the Gorillas as an accom-plished storyteller, never failing to bring laughter with his embellished versions of the days activities. Bob never met a microphone he didn like. Bob was a kind and caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He generously shared his good fortune with others, adamantly picking up the dinner tab, willingly loaning money to those in need, and graciously giving Christmas presents to the children of his many employees every year. His answer was always yes when it was within his power to help someone. Despite the many hours required to successfully start and run a manufacturing business, Bob still made time for his family. He was very involved with the sports activities of his sons, attending all of their games and even coaching several of their teams. He continued that support with his grandchildren, attending as many of their activities as he could. He was the true family patriarch: the solid rock to be counted on during challenging times and the first to throw a grand celebration during joyous ones. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Norma, and his sister Jean Whitman. Bob leaves behind his son Bob and wife Joyce, daughter Julianna Alff and husband Robin, son Myles and wife Angelica, grandchildren Melissa Milner, Garrett Milner and wife Leigh, Matthew Milner, Alexandra Alff, Harrison Alff, Carlos Gonzalez, Wendy Gonzalez, great grandson Gideon Milner, sister Ann Wallace and husband Don; sister Betty Blake and husband Herb; sister Patty Marvel and husband Jeff; special companion Dolores Leach, friend/caretaker Xin Qi (Tina), and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and employees who will greatly miss him. His lifes mantra was to make this world a better place for those who follow. He lived his life to the fullest to accomplish that and instill that mindset into those close to him. He unselfishly gave of his time and treasures to indeed make the world a better place. We will miss you, Papa. A family visitation will be held at Memorial Oaks funeral home on evening from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held at Memorial Oaks on morning at 10 a.m. |

Obituary: Rehnea Mitchie Milner passed away on 20, 2015 while living in Stuttgart Germany. She was 26 years old. Mitchie was born on 30, 1988 in Texas City, TX to her parents Mike and Irene Wyatt. Mitchie was an avid reader, always a book or a Kindle in hand. Her favorite book series was Harry Potter, probably knew it word for word. She also enjoyed doing crafts with her children and enjoyed being a mommy and was a terrific wife. Mitchie is survived by her Husband, Bobby Milner and her two babies Wyatt and Aubree. She is also survived by the following: Her dad Mike Wyatt and wife Dorris Wyatt, her mom Irene Wyatt and husband Eddie Overstreet, her sister Kimberly Stritz and brother-in-law Mike Stritz, her bother Thomas Wright and sister-in-law Tera Wright, her sister (best friend) Candace Luksan, step brother Dewayne Davis and step sister Deanna Bleacher, Grandmother Mary Wyatt and Great-Grandmother Helen F. Coomes. Mitchie is preceded in death by her Grandfather Raymond Melvin Wyatt, Great-Grandfather Rex E. Coomes, Grandfather James Boller and Grandmother Lucille Boller. Mitchie will be buried at Veterans Memorial located in Houston, TX on May 5, 2015. A visitation will take place on May 4, 2015 at American Heritage from 4:00pm to 8:00pm (4:00pm to 5:00pm is family only). The funeral for Mitchie will take place on May 5, 2015 at American Heritage from 12:00pm to 2:00pm (grave side services to follow). All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mitchies life.
